There was a portion of Sunday’s session where each position got to spend one-on-one time with a position coach, looking to improve their craft and pick up on things that can help them improve their game.
Here are some of our notes from the session:
Defensive Backs
Wynn Meetze Wynn Meetze 5'11" | 175 lbs | DB Gilbert | 2026 State SC | Gilbert
Meetze did a good job with his back pedal and he moved quickly to flip and turn his hips and change direction. We were also impressed with how he maintained good eye discipline. Clarence Springs IV Clarence Springs IV 5'10" | 175 lbs | DB Batesburg Leesville | 2025 SC from Batesburg Leesville did a good job of changing direction and exploding out of his position.
Kaleb Simpkins Kaleb Simpkins 6'0" | 170 lbs | DB Strom Thurmond | 2026 State SC | Strom Thurmond
Simpkins did an excellent job of moving and taking great angles while playing under control.
Quarterbacks
Zacobi Riley Zacobi Riley 6'2" | 195 lbs | QB First Baptist | 2025 SC | First Baptist
Riley displayed good footwork and an ability to set his feet and the result was accurate throws. The same can be said for Gray Collegiate’s Tyler Waller Tyler Waller 6'0" | 185 lbs | QB Gray Collegiate | 2026 State SC (see below tweet).

The mechanics were good for Jack Bick Jack Bick 6'1" | 175 lbs | QB Legion Collegiate Academy | 2026 SC from Legion Collegiate – we liked his ability to plant his foot in the ground before he released the ball.
Routes Versus Air
We were impressed with the swivel on the throws that came from Greer QB Kaden Rowland Kaden Rowland 6'1" | 170 lbs | QB Greer | 2025 SC . The ball comes out smoothly. You’ll want to keep your eye on Rock Hill QB Ian Grissom Ian Grissom 6'1" | 160 lbs | QB Rock Hill | 2025 State SC (pictured above) as we progress into next fall. He has a rocket for an arm and he is accurate with the throws. Carolina Forest QB Kameren Long threw a great ball where the receiver could run right underneath it.
Although he was listed as a defensive back, Beaufort’s Isaac Smalls Isaac Smalls 5'9" | 175 lbs | DB Beaufort | 2026 State SC saw some action at receiver and he ran a post route full speed to where he ran to the middle of the field and caught it for the touchdown.
A pair of Northwestern wide receivers made plays – Tadarrian Knox did an excellent job of adjusting to the ball on a long throw we saw, while Jayden Nichols Jayden Nichols 5'11" | 170 lbs | WR Northwestern | 2025 SC ran an excellent route up the pike to make the completion.
Clover TE Cameron James Cameron James 6'2" | 205 lbs | TE Clover Highschool | 2026 SC showed good hands on an out route, and caught it with his eyes and hands.
Running Backs versus Linebackers
Chesnee LB Jayden Williams displayed a good burst and speed and a solid cut in the hole while North Augusta RB Michael Doe Michael Doe 5'9" | 180 lbs | RB North Augusta | 2026 State SC did a good job of making people miss in the hole, while Jordan Conner Jordan Conner 5'10" | 195 lbs | LB Ben Lippen | 2025 State SC at Ben Lippen made a good tackle in the hole.
