Week 3 Scouting Report: De La Salle

Thanks to his big frame and wide catch radius, he was a big target and somewhat of a safety valve for his QB. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Beyond his great frame, he is an underrated route runner. He was clean getting out of breaks and was able to get behind his defender a few different times. Credit to Thurston, he wasn't rattled and continued to throw with confidence, leading his team on a comeback charge. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>His mechanics looked good all night long. He was clean on his drops, made quick decisions and was able to push the ball downfield accurately. Even the interception he threw, he put it right on his man and the DB just made a great play on it. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This was the night I really wanted to see from him to confirm my evaluations. This dude gets downhill in a hurry, hits one cut and gets what he can. Tacklers bounce off his well-built frame and it takes a group to take him down. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I was really impressed with how well he did in space. I know him more for his power, but he did a great job of getting into the open field and dealing some real damage. It felt like he was constantly in on tackles and constantly getting into the backfield. Even when he didn't make the play, he was able to re-route the runner and turn him back towards his teammates that could help clean up the tackle. I really liked his speed and quick reactions as well, keeping him ahead of the offense at all times. When his team needed it most, Bitonti went airborne to get into the end zone and took some shots along the way. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Still, he was able to punch it in and give his team a huge boost, and it nearly won them the game.
