We took a good look at the 2028 class of Nebraska quarterbacks as we look ahead at the 2026 season that is coming up next week in the Cornhusker State. Who might be moving upwards? Who will establish themselves as the top quarterback in the class? Those are two questions we answer with this group.

Jackson showed off quickly why he's a 2028 quarterback to watch out of Grand Island Central Catholic, as I was very intrigued with not only how poised in the pocket he was, but the throws he's able to make outside of the pocket. The 6'0 192 pounder is also on point with his ball placement and that seems to surely be the case on all three levels as he enlightened me with his precision especially on deep routes. He also shows off the quick release college coaches want to see as one that could move the needle forward from the QB4 spot in our next 2028 rankings update in Nebraska.

It doesn't take long to see the throttle and precison that Dominic has at his disposal when you first watch him on tape from his sophomore season, as I also like how quicky he gets the ball out of his hands and expect that it will come out even quicker as we look into his junior season. He needs hardly any time to process in the pocket which just shows you the poise this young man has with his quick delivery and the chemistry he has built with his Omaha North receiving core. He even makes the tougher intermediate throws in tight windows pass the eye test as surely another QB that could move up a couple spots in the QB group in the 2028 class.

The persistence you see with Scott on intermediate and deep routes is surely hard to miss when you are evaluating him and it's easy to see why he was first team All-State last year in Nebraska Class A. If you dial up his second clip on tape, you'll see the elusiveness that stands out amongst the rest with his legs and how he can turn nothing yards into something and turn it into a splash play with his legs. The speed he has with his release is fiery out his hands and that consistence holds truth the more you watch him on tape. He's a multi-sport athlete that if you are a college coach, you surely go outside the QB measurables threshold for with everything he brings to the table.

One of my favorite deep ball arms I have seen in the Nebraska 2028 rankings thus far comes from Lincoln North Star's [player_tooltip player_id='1870042' first='Eli' last='Schafer']. Yes, he has the excellent arm strength to excel with precision with his wide receiving core, but it's the tight windows he can find quickly downfield that really pass the eye test. He's also efficent with his touch regardless of the route he's throwing on, especially with his intermediate routes. Surely one that is ranked at #50 overall within our 2028 rankings that surely won't be in that spot for long.

Drew is a 2028 quarterback out of North Bend Central that I swear the deeper he gets down the field, the more dialed in he looks on tape as our QB10 in the 2028 Nebraska class at the moment. He's another one that is persistent in tight coverage but surely on intermediate routes as he can find the small window for his wide receivers to bite into a make their receptions beyond the first down markers. He also shows off his poise the most when he sees the most pressure come his way, as one his deep throws caught my attention after getting drilled but still delivering a well-placed deep throw. Surely a quarterback that you are looking in Class C2 that you need to watch for this fall.

It doesn't take long to see why Bellevue West's [player_tooltip player_id='1570012' first='Caleb' last='Goodwater'] is our QB1 in the 2028 Nebraska class with the excellent poise inside and outside of the pocket this young man has at his disposal. He's one that makes throws on deep routes that honestly only his wide receiver can get in a tight window as it shows that he's on point with his WRs timing on a very consistent basis. Caleb does not loose that timing, arm strength or timing hardly at all when he gets outside of the pocket either. A lot of Division 1 interest thus far and is one that I would make an early offer on if I were a Division 1 director of recruiting.
