As most know Ortner went for 2000+ yards last year, and Ballew has blown up over the offseason making their matchup that much more intriguing.

[player_tooltip player_id='936972' first='Elijah' last='Greenan Biggs'] will once again be an Oregon 4A POY candidate out of Scappoose after racking up 1st team all state honors with 24 TD's, while baseball standout Ryder Carpernter out of Mountain View could be the 5A POY on offense if the Cougars end up winning the state title. He went for 1000+ yards and 18 touchdowns last season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1924374' first='Zuzi' last='Alwineyan'] will split carries with top sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='2127746' first='Jonny' last='Jenkins'] so I don't know if you will see anything statistically crazy, but I do have Willamette as a viable semifinal team come November in the 6A playoffs. [player_tooltip player_id='937113' first='Shane' last='Peters'] out of West Linn could be a 1st team all-state guy on both sides of the football.

One of the fastest rising prospects on the entire board is [player_tooltip player_id='1703398' first='Malakai' last='Fong'] out of David Douglas who jumped 60+ spots from the last update. The 6-0 225-pound running back is a bruiser who went for 1,100+ rushing yards and 9 TDs for a Scots program that has struggled. Making his numbers that much more impressive.

Moving on to the receivers we have the state's leading 5A wideout from last year in [player_tooltip player_id='2088959' first='Cooper' last='Cousin'] still ranked in the mid 50's. Look for him to go for 1000+ again with double digit TD's, with the Cougars poised to be a top 10 5A program with all conference QB [player_tooltip player_id='1939267' first='Brody' last='Joyce'] returning.

6-4 180-pound athlete [player_tooltip player_id='2242573' first='Damarious' last='Harris'] is one of the most unknown and intriguing prospects in the entire Northwest, showing up to camps this summer with everyone asking "Where did this dude come from". [player_tooltip player_id='1256167' first='Samuel' last='Johnson'] is another big 6-4 receiver with 4.6 speed who could make some noise on the recruiting front with talented UP Baseball commit [player_tooltip player_id='937232' first='Kellen' last='Bowman'] throwing him the ball at QB.

[player_tooltip player_id='1358906' first='Sterling' last='Holland'] makes the move from Crescent Valley to Willamette after earning 1st team all-conference honors and going for close to 900 all-purpose with 10 TDs as a junior. [player_tooltip player_id='1358902' first='CJ' last='Scott'] of Summit is all of 6-4 and is a big receiver to watch as well.

The slot receiver/athlete position is loaded when we are talking about 27's. [player_tooltip player_id='1121756' first='Ashden' last='Marquis'] of West Linn is back after earning 2nd team all TRL accolades last season. It will be interesting to see what his teammate [player_tooltip player_id='858318' first='Kenneth' last='Ritchie'] does as well as he's a game changer in space.

Two of the top slots in the state will battle in the TRL with [player_tooltip player_id='937174' first='Houston' last='Lillard'] out of Tualatin and [player_tooltip player_id='935448' first='Colin' last='Smith'] of Oregon City. Lillard was an honorable mention athlete on both sides of the football with Smith currently being the state's fastest man and running a 10.3 100 meters.

[player_tooltip player_id='2161173' first='Chase' last='Herrera'] out of 2A Harrisburg could be the top small school player in Oregon and a potential D1 guy, according to MVP Performance owner Matt Quinn, who has accurately made these types of predictions before.

6-2 200-pound athlete [player_tooltip player_id='1119890' first='Greyson' last='Murff'] out of Lincoln is an individual to watch jumping 16 spots from #85 to #69. He could break out with the Cardinals looking like a clear-cut favorite to run the table in the PIL. Last but not least, two kids from reigning state champ Lake O who could have all state seasons in [player_tooltip player_id='797128' first='Cameron' last='Elijah'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1242855' first='Griffin' last='Ellingson']. Elijah has played behind a lot of talent at LO thus far, and Ellingson makes the move from Sunset understandably, like many other Apollo athletes. He went off as a junior, catching 55 balls for 800+ yards and 13 TDs.

At TE there are two kids with size and not a ton of pub in 6-4 225-pound Cam Carusso of Sandy and 6-5 200-pound [player_tooltip player_id='2215712' first='Samuel' last='Doman']. Sandy is legit and Caruso is expected to have a big year with Doman being another in a LONG line of talent.

We've talked at length about QB [player_tooltip player_id='1257695' first='Emmit' last='Distefano'] who will be a conference and state 5A POY candidate out of Thurston. He made a nice jump up the rankings board along with Jesuit QB [player_tooltip player_id='860650' first='Jack' last='Wilson'] who had a good junior year and a nice off season.

Oregon baseball commit [player_tooltip player_id='1358900' first='JT' last='Girod'] is back to lead a Central HS team that will be one of the best to ever represent the school, with QB [player_tooltip player_id='936850' first='Hank' last='Whitworth'] of Westview looking to come back in a big way from injury.

The big boys up front feature some intriguing prospects led by 6-4 275-pound [player_tooltip player_id='2243344' first='Isaiah' last='McMurray'] of West Linn who just landed his first D1 offer from San Diego. Others with legit size include 6-4 260 pound [player_tooltip player_id='1591706' first='Preston' last='Powell'] who will be a three year all conference tackle out of Westview and 6-4 265 pound [player_tooltip player_id='1787921' first='Skylar' last='Folau'] out of 4A Marshfield.

Other O lineman include multiple POY recipients from last season, with [player_tooltip player_id='2054807' first='Colton' last='Lucas'] of Sandy probably being the most prominent. The 6-0 255-pound reigning Mt Hood Offensive lineman of the Year will now play at the 5A level and absolutely dominate his conference. [player_tooltip player_id='1591863' first='Brock' last='Sahlfeld'] was the Pacific Conference POY and he is back to lead a much-improved Crimson Tide program.

Last but definitely not least [player_tooltip player_id='936891' first='Caleb' last='Klein'] out of Lakeridge. The returning all TRL lineman doesn't have prototypical size but will be one of the best in the state at his position.
