Bowman followed up his ridiculous Week 1 performance with another record-setting night, needing only one half of football to put together an incredible stat line. The senior quarterback completed 29 of 36 passes for 470 yards and six touchdowns, as South Salem dominated Southridge 63-8. Through two games, Bowman is now 70-of-83 passing for 1,045 yards and 12 touchdowns with just two interceptions, all in only five quarters of action. His combination of arm strength, accuracy, and command of South Salem’s offense has made him one of the most productive quarterbacks in the state through two weeks.

Bowman picked up right where he left off after a record-breaking 2025 season, delivering one of the most remarkable stat lines of the entire opening week. The senior QB completed an astounding 41 of 47 passes for 575 yards while accounting for eight total touchdowns, throwing for six and rushing for two. Bowman led the Saxons to a wild 76-50 victory over Forest Grove, putting together a performance that showcased both his accuracy and big-play ability. After setting records last season, Bowman showed in Week 1 that he has no intention of slowing down as a senior.

On the other sideline, Bowman made Oregon high school football history. The South Salem quarterback threw for an incredible 692 yards, setting the state record for passing yards in a single game. He added five touchdowns through the air, keeping the Saxons in the fight until the very end. Even in defeat, Bowman’s performance was one of the most memorable ever seen on an Oregon field.

Bowman is the Saxon’s future, and with two years left, they should be excited to continue to develop him. Bowman should lead this team to a better record next season.

Our second South Salem player is their new quarterback this season, Kellen, who had a great year statistically. Kellen looked strong out there as a sophomore and will only continue to get better. Their conference was extremely tough this year, and Kellen was able to still put up big numbers. Kellen will be an exciting player to watch develop.
