Leading the DCG offense the last two seasons, 2027 QB [player_tooltip player_id='1198821' first='Chase' last='Engel'] took a major step forward last season, completing 146-of-259 passes (56.4%) for 1,740 yards, 17 touchdowns and nine interceptions.

A lefty that spread it around to a multitude of talent around him in the Mustang offense, the senior-to-be has a fluid, up-and-over motion that allows him to get air under the ball, especially on deep shots to receivers. Using his back foot to follow through, Engel gets some power into his passes, too, making throws down the field look effortless. A smooth athlete that navigates the pocket to avoid pressure, Engel can also put it on a rope when running to his left or loft a ball to the back of the endzone and let his receiver go get it. Engel throws a very catchable ball.

With interest from Midwest FCS programs as well as schools like Iowa and Northwestern, Grand View would be hitting a home run with a prospect like Engel at quarterback.

A native to the Des Moines metro area, [player_tooltip player_id='1940790' first='Ian' last='Hughes'] would be a home town win for Grand View on the OL. An interior offensive lineman that pops up out of his stance and can stonewall defensive tackles in the run game while also getting some push at the line of scrimmage, Hughes is the type of guard or center that can anchor an offensive line.

If there isn't someone in his immediate line of site to block, Hughes will go out and find someone to either double-team in the passing game, or he'll get to the second level and plow the way for Waukee ball-carriers.

A stocky defensive tackle that stands at 6-foot and 245 pounds, Riley LaFrenz has deceptive explosion and foot speed. If opposing OL don't get a chance to look at the film prior to playing Indianola, they'll be lucky to not get popped in the mouth and pushed off the line of scrimmage by Lafrenz on the first down of the game.

Even if OL know what they're in for, Lafrenz is able to take the initial shot, utilize a swim move or shoot a gap to get into the backfield for a tackle-for-loss (TFL). One can easily see the Vikings' vision for Lafrenz as a hole-plugging DL.

A middle linebacker/running back that packs a punch, [player_tooltip player_id='1204524' first='Josh' last='Ringler'] led Grinnell in multiple offensive and defensive categories last fall. At LB, he led the Tigers with 75 tackles, 9 TFLs and 3.5 sacks. Offensively, he took a team-leading 174 carries for 1,108 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Getting a do-it-all prospect like that, who would be worthy of an offer on either side of the ball, Ringler is the type of recruit that a program like Grand View can bring in and figure it all out later.

That said, Ringler projects to linebacker at the next levle, and he's a high-energy, ferocious tackler. Packing a punch in the middle of the Grinnell defense, Ringler is ready to punce on any given ball-carrier, even if he has to go through an offensive linemen to find the ball.

A rare breed of prospect, [player_tooltip player_id='2131398' first='Sam' last='Hoffman'] of Ballard is the type of specialist that earned an offer from one of the more prestigious programs in NAIA.

Going 10-of-14 between his sophomore and junior years, Hoffman's one of the more prolific kickers in the state. Over those two seasons, the all-stater also went 47-of-48 on PATs, showing some of the best consistency on point after attempts in the state. He also posted 11 touchbacks on kickoffs.

Hoffman shows potential in terms of power, consistency and carry, as he confidently drilled a 46-yard, school-record field goal this last season.
