A middle linebacker/running back that packs a punch, Josh Ringler Josh Ringler 6'0" | 205 lbs | LB Grinnell | 2027 State IA led Grinnell in multiple offensive and defensive categories last fall. At LB, he led the Tigers with 75 tackles, 9 TFLs and 3.5 sacks. Offensively, he took a team-leading 174 carries for 1,108 yards and 11 touchdowns.
Getting a do-it-all prospect like that, who would be worthy of an offer on either side of the ball, Ringler is the type of recruit that a program like Grand View can bring in and figure it all out later.
That said, Ringler projects to linebacker at the next levle, and he’s a high-energy, ferocious tackler. Packing a punch in the middle of the Grinnell defense, Ringler is ready to punce on any given ball-carrier, even if he has to go through an offensive linemen to find the ball.

Read EvaluationRob Howe | Prep Redzone Scout
Ringler is one of the most productive two-way players in the state. The junior rushed for 804 yards (6.8 YPC) and nine touchdowns through six games, adding seven catches and a receiving score. Ringler also racked up 52.0 tackles (43 solo, 5.0) and 3.5 sacks. I could see colleges viewing him differently in terms of position. He’s putting together impressive film running the ball. His combination of size, vision, burst and patience make him ideal for gashing defense between the tackles. He adds speed in the open field. The toughness required in carrying the rock along with the lateral quickness and ability to cut sharply aid him on defense, too. Ringler flies to the football with bad intentions upon arrival.

Josh Ringler Josh Ringler 6'0" | 205 lbs | LB Grinnell | 2027 State IA is a LB on the rise for the class of 2027, but he’s also been an effective dual-threat HB on the offense. Against Fairfield this week, Ringler ran for 111 yards on 15 carries and a touchdown, while also leading the team with 89 receiving yards on 3 catches and 2 touchdowns. Ringler played well as a scamper-back, making quick cuts and showing great vision as he takes his carries outside of the box. That same running style worked well catching out of the backfield, as he was able to make defenders miss en route to punching it in twice in the passing game. Ringler led Grinnell in rushing yards this season, and we should expect more from him moving forward on both sides of the ball.
