has been on my radar for a while now and continued to impress this past season. He lines up on the outside at corner where he has proven to be productive in both man and zone coverage. When the ball is thrown his way, Varney has shown the ability to react with perfect timing to make a play, coming away with a team-leading three interceptions in 14 games this past season. He also showed the ability to provide run support, finishing the year with 70 tackles. Varney also made an impact on offense as a junior, catching 18 passes for 467 yards and six touchdowns. Cayden currently holds an offer from Pikeville and I expect more to come his way going into his senior year.

, an athlete at Belfry High School. Varney impresses me with his size, speed and ability to be explosive on both sides. Defensively, I like how Varney can shut down the rush from along the edge. I also like Varney’s ability to disrupt receivers in coverage, using his versatile edge and catching ability to break up deep passes.

from Belfry. On defense, Varney plays on the outside at corner and finished this past season with 30 tackles and two interceptions. He is impressive in man coverage, showing the ability to open up and run with receivers to mirror their routes. Varney has also shown the ability to time his breaks perfectly to catch interceptions in stride, returning one interception for a touchdown this past season. On offense, Varney took some carries out of the backfield, finishing this past season with 28 rushes for 140 yards and a touchdown. He also caught one touchdown. Varney doesn’t currently hold any offers but should be a player to watch on both sides of the ball over the next few seasons.
