Freshman classes usually take the longest to evaluate. For one they're usually the last to get their highlight films up. Sometimes they're just waiting for a larger group of plays to choose from. Either way now as we're getting to the end of the season for most players, we're finally starting to see film trickle out to start evaluating. Today I take a look at 7 freshman who have caught my eye with their freshman film.

Strongsville's name is fitting as it had a strong season. They went 8-3 on the season with 2 of the losses coming on a combined 6 points. Tatulinski was a playmaker for the Mustangs offense. He's a versatile back who can make plays in the run or passing games. Austin has a no nonsense style of running. He's explosive and there's little to no wasted movement. He hits the hole hard and when he gets to the second level, he displays a nice jump cut that makes defenders miss. In the pass game he has the hands to catch the ball out of the backfield, but he also has the wiggle and violent cuts to be split out and create separation in routes.

At 6'5 280 pounds, Dorsey is already a physical presence the moment he steps on a football field. He has a good punch and uses that great length and reach to keep defenders at bay. Grant has the upper body strength to finish. He bends well for his size. As he continues to get stronger in his core and hips, he's going to be able to stand up and get bigger and stronger players and get them going backwards at the point of attack.

Huber is talented young trench player for the Pioneers. As an offensive tackle he already possesses good frame to continue to grow and build on. At this point I could really see him on the offensive or defensive side of the ball. His combination of size and athleticism can make him a factor from the edge or defensive end positions. His athleticism plays way up on the offensive side of the ball. His foot work and his hands are really good and he's really strong in space getting to and executing at the second level. At this point I favor Huber on the defensive side of the ball, but we will continue to monitor how he progresses physically.

McAllister III had a huge breakout freshman season rushing for over 1,000 yards and helping the Tigers to a regional runner-up in D1 Region 3. The explosive freshman can do it between the tackles, and he can do it on the boundary. Whiles he's explosive and can make guys miss, but he doesn't dance. He can be violent and get the tough yards too. Edmund already holds a P5 offer from Louisville and has several G5 offers to go with it.

Pickerington North has put a lot of talent over the last decade. The pipeline still exists. Weller-Massey is a talented safety in the Panthers program. I like him as a strong safety who can cover. He's very good in the zone. You can see him swivel, drop, and pass off receivers. When the ball goes in the air he has a nice break. My favorite part of the tape is the physicality he plays with. Whether it's in his breaks or in backside pursuit he's always looking to make the big stick.

[player_tooltip player_id='1423705' first='Nate' last='Miller III'] is a talented dual threat QB from Westerville Central High School. Having the chance to cut his teeth in a conference like the Ohio Capital Conference as a Freshman is an opportunity that most don't get. That's a testament to not only his talent but also his maturity level for his age. Miller is perfectly content throwing from the pocket and is getting better there with every rep. Where he excels most is in his ability to extend plays with his explosiveness and elusiveness. While he could easily tuck it and run while playing out of structure, he does a great job of keeping his eyes downfield and hitting his receivers in spots where they can make plays. The genetics are there with him as his uncle is a former player who Ohio State fans may know by the name of Braxton Miller. The sky is the limit with this young and talented Quarterback.

The first thing that you notice when you meet Winnie is his size. At 6'4 225 pounds he already has a college frame. As a thrower the arm talent is already undeniable. He's unafraid to throw the ball into windows whether it's vertically or in the intermediate throws. He can layer throws really well for a quarterback who's as young as he is. I'm looking forward to seeing how Garnett continues to develop as he makes his way through high school.
