Pickerington Central quarterback Winnie Garnett is one of Ohio’s best Class of 2029 prospects. Trained by Brad Maendler, the 6-foot-4, 225-pound prospect has picked up back-to-back offers from Bowling Green State and Louisville. Expect him to break out in a big way this year as a sophomore for the Tigers.

Anderson has such a star-studded team that it’s hard to see how they won’t be contending for a state championship again in 2026, hopefully getting over the hump and capturing a title in Canton. They have a bright future, especially with

– a 6-foot-4, 225-pound Class of 2029 quarterback with all the potential to be highly-successful in the future. Garnett has the qualities desired in a top quarterback: a quick release, smooth delivery and a nice, on-time deep ball. High-upside prospect who will only get better and holds two Division I offers.

The first thing that you notice when you meet Winnie is his size. At 6’4 225 pounds he already has a college frame. As a thrower the arm talent is already undeniable. He’s unafraid to throw the ball into windows whether it’s vertically or in the intermediate throws. He can layer throws really well for a quarterback who’s as young as he is. I’m looking forward to seeing how Garnett continues to develop as he makes his way through high school.

Winnie Garnett is QB1 the moment he steps on the field. He has a strong arm and can make every throw, regardless of where the ball is placed. His big frame at his age draws attention, but what’s even more impressive is how effortlessly he flicks the ball out of the pocket. Winnie also moves well for his size—rolling out, executing bootlegs, and working RPOs to catch defenses off guard. When he decides to keep it himself, he can pick up valuable yards. Most impressive is the arc on his deep ball, which drops with precision and velocity. As of now, he already holds an offer from UMass, and more are sure to follow.
