About Ethan

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am a physical football player and love to block as much as I love having the ball, I started 2 years at Varsity QB for Indian Hill in Cincinnati, in addition to playing RB and OLB. After transferring to St. Xavier, I've transitioned to H/TE. I'm fast enough to not get caught from behind and physical enough to run guys over and not let 1 guy tackle me. I also have multiple D1 lacrosse offers

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I'm super competitive even in practice. Since my Junior season was short because of Ohio transfer rules, I made it my mission to be a scout team nightmare. We have 4 P4 LB and a P4 DL on the team and I just love when the play card gets me matched up on them. I'm also a sideline leader by leading the cheers and attitudes of the players when I'm not in. I love the weight room too.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I have gotten 1st honors every quarter in school. I have also completed 15 hours of college class at the University of Cincinnati through Ohio's College Credit Plus program and have a 3.8 GPA with UC.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I do a lot of community service from making sandwiches for food pantries to working in soup kitchens and going to schools to read to kids or help in the classroom. At Indian Hill I also worked with the special needs kids and took them on day trips around the city. The teacher and kids made me their mascot.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

During my Sophomore season, I dislocated my ankle and broke my leg because of a hip drop tackle. I had to have surgery and missed our playoff run and can no longer play basketball. I worked my tail off to be ready for lacrosse just 3 months after surgery. My grandpa also died recently and it really hit me hard because he came to all of my games and was a great man.

What type of college are you looking for?

I'm looking for a school with a great finance program that can help me in life after I'm done playing football. I also want to go to a school that has a great football team and coaches and players. Relationship are really important to me.

The 6-foot-4, tight end/H-back for Saint Xavier is strong in pass protection and has good run-after-the-catch as a receiver. Strong and tough, eh is also quick to get downfield on punt coverage and can deliver some big hits. He can flex out as an inside receiver and block well on the perimeter. Great finisher, flashes a mean streak. Also plays Lacrosse.
