Xavier was easily a stand out performer on the DL at the National Preps Showcase the other week. Measuring in at 6’1″+ and nice muscled frame at 244lbs. He ran a nice 4.91 laser 40 while broad jumping 9’5 1/4″ displaying his impressive overall athleticism. In drill work and 1v1s Xavier displayed nice bent and burst. He’s good quick feet, runs on his toes and is able to rip, dip and bend the edge as a rusher. College coaches noticed his skill set on the day as well as he picked up a Merrimack offer at the camp. Look for many more offers to come Xavier’s way this summer season.

Xavier Melvin Xavier Melvin 6'1" | 245 lbs | EDGE/DL Calvert Hall College | 2027 State MD profiles as a true speed rusher whose explosiveness off the edge consistently stresses opposing protections. He wins with burst, beating blockers around the corner with pure speed, and also shows the ability to counter inside, shooting gaps and making plays in the backfield before offenses can react.

Melvin’s get-off is one of his defining traits, flashing often enough to even result in a blocked kick this season. His quickness, disruptive potential, and special teams impact make him a name to know heading into the offseason. With further evaluation and exposure, Melvin is a prospect positioned to draw increased attention from college programs looking for a dynamic edge presence.

Xavier is part of a fierce DL for Calvert Hall that has been giving offenses fits all season long. An Edge defender, able to play stand up rush OLB or with his hand in the dirt DE.

With a nice lean frame and solid length. Xavier will fill out well going forward, can see him being a 250+ player easily by his senior year. With impressive bend and burst from the edge, Xavier is able to get nice leverage at the POA. He shows good feet and overall athleticism with a nice set or rush moves. He can rip, dip and bend the edge, and shows a nice spin counter move.

Impressive hand usage already combined with his explosiveness making Xavier a dangerous player. Xavier should easily be an offer kid this spring and will make a strong debut in the end of the season rankings update.
