Lanier has the prototypical size with long arms and a frame that could withstand some additional weight. He’s a long strider who covers a lot of ground and eats cushions quickly. That’s evident in his highlights where a few plays show defensive backs playing off him at least 6-7 plus yards. Not a burner, and at his size, don’t really expect him to be. I would like to see if he’s gotten a little bit more explosive off the line since the end of the 2022 season. Showed some polished route running on two plays that included a 10-12 yards comeback, a post, 10-yard out, and a bubble screen. There’s another play where he does a good job of adjusting on a scramble play and catching a deep pass downfield for a big gain. In a way, I think he has deceptive speed. I think defenders underestimate how long Lanier’s stride is at time. Has the makings of becoming a solid boundary receiver at the next level.
