Power Scores: X Factors, Lovejoy

Lovejoy is bringing the energy and outplaying expectations this fall. Here are 7 players on their roster who have grasped my attention.    Fairchild, an East Carolina commit, has been one of the steadiest LB prospects in Georgia over the last few years. He is a strong 6'1 225 with pop in his pads. He projects as a C gap to C gap roamer with the mass and play strength to hold his own against blockers and manhandle ball carriers. He is a willing pursuer across the field, but his money will be made coming downhill to strike and assert his will.     Sims, a Memphis commit, is well-equipped traits-wise and extremely active. He is productive as a tackler and productive against the ball. He always seems to be around the ball during chaos and negative plays. He consistently creates takeaways. He is a proven tackler with excellent pursuit skills. Long-term, his instincts and activity will play best as a safety or nickel, where he can be around the ball on every snap.     [player_tooltip player_id='283822' first='Corey' last='Orr'] is the most versatile, gadgety player on Lovejoy. He is listed at 5'9 175, and is a playmaker with the ball in his hand. He will line up in the slot, out wide, in the backfield, and doubles as a productive returner. Orr is twitchy and has impressive foot speed, he can shake defenders in the short area and is difficult to corral. Long term, he will project out as a slot receiver or a scat back option at RB. Regardless, he is a D1 caliber playmaker and is backing it up on tape.     It's easy to see why Stanford likes [player_tooltip player_id='1640033' first='Caleb' last='Carson']. He comes in at a long 6'2 185 with room to grow. At corner, he is a prototype. He has quick feet, good length, and fluid hips. He shifts momentum downhill well and is more than willing as a tackler. This is a classic "don't overthink it eval", which is why he is expected to land at the P4 level when all is said and done.     Underrated, but traitsy DE/EDGE who instantly caught my eye on tape. You have to love the frame, both his length and room to get bigger. He plays really hard at the point of attack and has a lot of stamina as a pursuer, working hard to free himself. He is raw, but quick off the line and flashes speed when he has a runway to the ball. He uses his length to create separation at the chest, and he flashes some arm-over-and-under moves. He has little recruiting buzz for now, but I don't think that will stick. As he tightens up as a mover and grows, he will only get better.     Atabonglefac plays both ways for Lovejoy, but projects long-term as a receiver. He is a soccer athlete with impressive explosiveness off the line. He is quick to eliminate cushion and set up double moves. Underneath opportunities are set up by his ability to get CBs moving vertically. His body control is impressive, making catches on the outskirts of his catch radius, and often while twisting and turning or battling for position. He is massively underrated, but a big play threat with good enough traits for me to track closely.     Butler is yet another underrated 2027 on Lovejoy with impressive traits and pursuit skills. He is listed at 6'0 215 with a cut physique and good length relative to his height. I would consider him a run-and-chase LB, but he does greet blockers with some pop in his pads. He is an urgent pursuer of the football who can quickly close space. He can settle down and mirror as well. Butler is absolutely a D1 caliber LB prospect who can wreak havoc when he sees an opportunity.
