is one of the better players in the Dalton red and one of the better players in the state when it comes to the tackling factor of the game. He will be paired with Long this season, which is something many need to monitor, as he led the team in tackles last season. He is looking more dominant and will be one of the players that offenses look to avoid. He will be one of the players who helps the Dalton team get back to the promise days. I can’t wait to see Evans play this season.

is on this list as someone who has a lot of upside. Evans is by far one of the better players in the state, and has all the potential in the world when it comes to tackling running backs in the backfield. He takes great angles and is very underrated, as his counterpart,

Evans’ time will come, as he was the team leader in sacks last season, and will only be better when it comes to this next season, as he will be more polished and will be more college-ready than ever. I believe Evans is a dominant defender, and it will show under the Friday Night Lights in 2026.

is a physical and relentless linebacker for the Dalton Catamounts who knows how to make a big play when it’s needed. I expect him to have a really big off-season and season ahead for 2026. He is one of the best defensive playmakers in the class of 2028.

is one of the better linebackers in the state, as he finished with a ton of tackles last season. He took the biggest step up throughout the season, as he got better every game. I anticipate him to be a captain for this team, which will be huge, as he is paired up with someone else on this list. Both of the linebackers on this roster will be great, and I believe this is arguably the best linebacker group in the state.

Evans is ranked, but I could make the case that he is still underrated. He is one of the better players in the state at filling a gap and being a sure tackler. He took a massive step forward this year, and I believe he will only get better over time. He has been a top name in the northern part of Georgia, but has yet to receive an offer. If Evans shows up the way I anticipate, he will be walking away named as the top performer in the LB room.

I have watched Abreham close since the beginning of his season last year, and I truly believe he is one of the better players in the state at the linebacker position. He has a lot of traits, and is one of the more traitsy linebackers in the competition. He is hard-hitting, but quick with his body, starting to develop the right way. He is primed for a huge season, and if I had only $10 to my name, I would feel comfortable betting all of it that he will be on some college radars following this event.

One of the top 2028 linebackers in North Georgia, Evans is still flying under the radar even as he’s coming off a strong second season where he made 84 tackles and an impressive 12.5 TFLs. He also added two sacks, showing he can make big plays in the backfield while attacking the quarterback in the passing game. He does a good job of making a secure tackle in the open field and was one of the region’s most consistent linebackers. As a sophomore, Evans played like a veteran and will be in a position to really impressive college coaches with an improved junior season in 2026. Evans’ stock is rising and some D1 interest could come his way at some point down the road.

Up in Dalton you’ll find a sleeper linebacker in the 2028 class who is starting to really light up the stat sheet. The quick, instinctive defender is one of the more consistent defenders in the region and is holding his own as a sophomore. The 6-foot-0 185-pounder has made 55 tackles and six TFLs with one sack and one forced fumble. He’s active, dependable, and still has his best football way ahead of him. He strikes the ball-carrier and should add more muscle mass over the next two years. If he continues to improve don’t be surprised if his recruitment started to pick up next year.
