Verrado (4-1) vs Millennium (4-1)

The Tigers are coming off a road win at Shadow Ridge, prevailing in the end 55-34. The Vipers are coming off another shutout victory against South Mountain, winning 55-0. Verrado now has 3 shutouts on the year thus far. They are led by a talented group of defensive players such as DB Koby Quine as he had an INT in this game, DB Jayden King, and DL Cade Sim who had a sack in his last outing. They will have to contend with a lethal rushing attack led by RB [player_tooltip player_id='1650526' first='Dmari' last='Bryant'] who is coming off a historic game with 358 rushing yards and 5 rushing TDs against Shadow Ridge.

Cactus Shadows (3-2) vs Desert Mountain (4-1)

Another colossal matchup in the 5A region as the Cactus Shadow Falcons will head to Scottsdale to face the Desert Mountain Wolves to open up their regional play. The Falcons are coming off a 56-14 win over Paradise Valley, building momentum with three straight victories after a tough 0-2 start. While the Wolves are coming off a shut out from their previous opponent against Kellis, winning 53-0. Both these offenses have no problem putting up points and that is blatantly clear. For Cactus Shadows, they rely heavily on their quaterback play from QB [player_tooltip player_id='401159' first='Donivan' last='Dixon'] who has already thrown for 17 TDs through 5 games. His top targets are WR Dillon Aspairas, who has found the endzone 6 times through the air, and TE [player_tooltip player_id='1603188' first='Alex' last='Dafnis']. Desert Mountain will be leaning much more heavily on their rushing attack from their two headed monster of a backfield in RB [player_tooltip player_id='1261874' first='Ryan' last='Cratty'] and RB [player_tooltip player_id='1258544' first='Easton' last='Conner']. Cactus Shadows LB Clayton Pfaff, who has 40 tackles through 5 games, and DB [player_tooltip player_id='1745368' first='Tavion' last='Johnson'] will be looking to shut down this rushing attack and forcing Desert Mountain to beat them through the air.

Thunderbird (6-0) vs Northwest Christian (3-2)

An underrated matchup between two very good 4A schools will feature the undefeated Thunderbird Titans heading to Deer Valley to face the Northwest Christian Crusaders. As mentioned, Thunderbird has been on a tear so far this season as they recently beat Deer Valley, 27-14. The Crusaders are coming off a bounce back performance as they were able to handle business against Moon Valley, 31-12. The Crusaders also have a potent two-person backfield lead by RB [player_tooltip player_id='1587273' first='Nathan' last='Johannes'], who already has over 500 rushing yards through 6 games, and RB [player_tooltip player_id='1567606' first='Laki' last='Wallwork'] with his 7 rushing TDs on the ground. Thunderbird will be looking to their two-way superstar in WR/DB Daryl Little, who has 865 receiving yards on the year and 9 receiving TDs along with 3 picks on defense. CB Debo Vitale for Northwest Christian will be looking to slow down this dual threat on the perimeter before he gets going.
