As we approach the final days of the month of September, we have already made it through the first half of the 2025 high school football regular season in the state of Kentucky. With that being said, I will be releasing my Midseason All-State teams for each class. After already covering the offensive side of the ball, here is my 6A Midseason All-State Defense.

[player_tooltip player_id='971538' first='Josiah' last='Hope'] has continued to establish himself as one of the best players in the entire state this season. Hope has only played in three games but has been dominant when on the field. He lines up at defensive tackle where he uses his strength to shed blocks with ease and speed to get to the ball carrier to make the tackle against the run. Hope has accounted for 24 tackles and six tackles for loss so far this season. He has also proven to be a very effective pass rusher, using his strength to bull rush straight through opposing offensive linemen along with the quick pass rush moves to defeat blocks. Hope is committed to Louisville where I can see him being a very productive player at the next level.

After a very productive sophomore season, [player_tooltip player_id='1610711' first='Sebastian' last='Blue'] has picked up right where he left off this year. Blue lined up at defensive end where he is a dangerous pass rusher off the edge. He explodes out of his stance and uses his speed to blow by opposing offensive tackles with ease. Blue does a great job of finishing once he gets to the quarterback as he currently leads 6A with five sacks in five games. He has also shown the ability to stop the run, accounting for 15 tackles and two tackles for loss this season. Sebastian currently holds multiple Division I/Power 4 offers and I expect that list to continue to grow over the next two seasons.

[player_tooltip player_id='1907204' first='Lincoln' last='Weaver'] has jumped onto my radar with a strong start to his junior year. He lines up at defensive end where he is very impressive as a pass rusher. Weaver uses his combination of speed and bend to win off the edge with ease and get to the quarterback in a hurry. Through five games, Weaver has accounted for 4.5 sacks. He has also recorded 20 tackles and 4.5 tackles for loss so far this season. Lincoln doesn't currently hold any offers but he should definitely be a player to keep an eye on over the next couple years.

[player_tooltip player_id='1506776' first='Wyatt' last='Highley'] is off to a very impressive start to his senior year as he currently leads the entire state in tackles with 84 in five games. Highly lines up at inside linebacker where he has a true nose for the football. He diagnoses the play quickly then uses his speed to meet the ball carrier to make the tackle before they can get going. Highley has also been very disruptive behind the line of scrimmage this season, recording 10.5 tackles for loss and one sack so far. Wyatt doesn't currently hold any offers but he is a player who definitely deserves some attention from college coaches.

[player_tooltip player_id='1706076' first='Cohen' last='Campbell'] is another senior inside linebacker who has stood out so far this season. Campbell is very reliable against the run, showing the ability to explode out of his stance and meet the ball carrier in the gap before they can gain much momentum. He is a very good tackler once he gets to the ball carrier, accounting for 51 tackles and six tackles for loss in the first five weeks. Cohen has also recorded two sacks this season. Campbell currently holds offers from Murray State and Georgetown (KY), and I expect more to come his way throughout his senior year.

[player_tooltip player_id='1907207' first='Jess' last='Officer'] is a player who has caught my attention with a strong start this season. He lines up at inside linebacker where he is very impressive against the run. Jess does a great job of reading his keys quickly then flowing to the ball carrier with a sense of urgency. Once he gets to the ball carrier, he explodes through contact and finishes his tackles with a ton of physicality. Through five games, Officer has accounted for 52 tackles and seven tackles for loss. He has also recorded one sack and an interception so far this season. Jess doesn't currently hold any offers but he should be a player to watch as he continues to develop over the next three years.

[player_tooltip player_id='1217741' first='Allen' last='Evans IV'] has continued to prove that he is the best defensive back in the entire state this season. He lines up at corner where he locks down his man with ease in man coverage. Evans uses his speed to run with receivers to mirror their routes then reacts with perfect timing to break up the pass when the ball is thrown his way. He has also shown the ability to provide run support this season, accounting for 17 tackles and one tackle for loss through five games. Allen currently holds several Power 4 offers and I expect that list to continue to grow as he is a high-caliber prospect.

When the ball is thrown his way, he was shown impressive ball skills, coming away with three interceptions (tied for 6A lead) in five games. He has also shown the ability to make plays against the run, accounting for 21 tackles so far this season. When the ball is thrown his way, he has shown impressive ball skills, coming away with three interceptions (tied for 6A lead) in five games this season. He has also shown the ability to fill the lane in a hurry to provide run support as he currently leads his team with 27 tackles along with one tackle for loss.
