To wrap up our top five defensive backs in the class of 2027 in the state of Kentucky, I have

. Sekou lines up at corner where he has proven to be effective in both zone and man coverage. He does a great job of reading route combinations then reacting quickly to make a play on the ball when it is thrown his way. Kamara finished his junior year with three interceptions in 15 games, returning one of them for a touchdown. He also accounted for 40 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, and half a sack this season. Sekou currently holds offers from Appalachian State and Warner, and I expect more to come his way as he is a true Division I caliber prospect.

. Kamara lines up mainly on the outside at corner but has shown the versatility to play inside at nickel as well. He is very reliable in zone coverage, showing the ability to read route combinations then break on the ball so the perfect timing to make a play when it is thrown his way. Kamara finished last season with 12 pass breakups in 12 games. He also showed the ability to provide support against the run, finishing his sophomore year with 41 tackles and three tackles for loss. Sekou currently holds offers from Appalachian State and Warner, and I expect more to come his way over the next couple seasons.

, a defensive back at Trinity High School. Kamara makes a considerable difference with his ability to read the gunslinger and utilize bursts of speed to quickly get in front of the short pass. I also like Kamara’s ability to lock down receivers in coverage with his arms, proving he can disrupt the deep pass and swat the ball out of the air.

One of the most dynamic 2027 prospects in the country, Kentuck’s Kamara is the ultimate X-factor in youth football. The 5-foot-10, 145-pounder causes sleepless nights for Defensive Coordinators with his ability to take over the game from the Running Back and Wide Receiver position on Offense, the Returner position on Special Teams and as a Free Safety on defense. At this point, he relies a lot on his speed and it gets him where he wants to go. I’m looking forward to seeing what changes the weight room will bring to his game.
