About Cooper

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am a fast player off the edge with a 40-yard dash time of 4.82. I am a sophomore sharing varsity reps.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I'm constantly looking for ways to get better, on the field, in the weight room, and even in the classroom. I also put my teammates before myself and share the common goal to win no matter what.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I also play baseball (1B, OF, Pitcher).

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I am a leader and good teammate, constantly looking for everyone around me, including myself to get better. I am also big on the little things, such as starting behind the line and finishing through it.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I broke my wrist the first week of practice this season, but have been playing with a club cast since then with no restrictions.

What type of college are you looking for?

The main goal is a D1 school, but I am interested in the D2 level as well. Location doesn't matter.

Reihl rotated in for the varsity team this year and had his moments, showing he belongs and can make plays. He plays hard and has a good motor. He’s fairly relentless and won’t take snaps off. I always appreciate high-effort guys because you can’t coach it. He’s got the talent, and the frame is starting to catch up. He’s got a really quick first step off the line and gets into the space of a lineman before their set. He’s constantly getting into the backfield and creating pressure and making TFLs. I think there’s a chance he has a huge junior season and takes off.

Reihl showed up and he showed out on his way to camp MVP for the defensive line. Watching his testing and drills he immediately caught my eye. He showed explosiveness and ability to bend in the 3 cone and 20-yard shuttle as well as the drills. All of those traits easily translated to the 1v1’s. Reihl lined up mostly at right end. He routinely won with his twitchy get-off and he showed and that ability to bend and turn the corner at a high level. The blockers struggled to get their hands on him due to his active and violent hands. I’m really looking forward to seeing him develop over the next couple of years.
