earned his way into the rankings after making the most of his opportunities in a deep Patriots defensive front last season. Franke may not have the biggest frame among edge prospects, but he consistently found ways to impact the game with his ability to get into the backfield. He plays with a high motor, generates pressure on quarterbacks, and can help in the running came off the end. Even in a rotational role, his production and activity stood out on film. Franke enters his senior season as a player D3 programs should be keeping a close eye on, especially if his role continues to expand.

earlier this season, and he’s continued to be a steady player for the Patriots at the midway point of the season. They like to rotate their defensive linemen a lot, but Franke seems to make the most of his reps when they come. His reps to production ratio is high, which speaks to his ability and effort, as he can stay fresh throughout games. Franke can align in a variety of roles, anywhere from the interior to a wide 9-tech, which is where we see him playing in college.

. He’s undersized for the position right now, but has done some nice things off the end for the Patriots this season. They’ll even line him up inside at times on the defensive line and let him rush the passer from the interior. Franke’s body type projects better as a stand-up edge rusher if he can develop the bend and flexibility needed for the position. He’s created some havoc through the first two weeks of the season against two good teams and is someone to keep an eye on over the next two years.
