Centerville attacked opponents with a potent air game in 2025. When it needed yards on the ground, however, Kaleponi was more than happy to take the ball. The junior led the team with 785 yards (6.3 YPC) and 14 touchdowns on the ground. He added 12 receptions for 159 yards and a score. Kaleponi stood out on defense as well, collecting 22.5 tackles, 13 of which were solo stops. He added a tackle for loss and a sack. On special teams, Kaleponi punted 14 times with a 35.6-yard average. We can witness Kaleponi’s exploits during his 11th-grade highlight video. He gets downhill in a hurry after taking the handoff, busting through traffic between the tackles and also flashing wiggle to make defenders miss. Kaleponi is patient with keen vision and speed to outrun opponents in the open field. The quickness, fluid movements and strength also work well on defense, where there’s also next-level potential.

Centerville’s Makoa Kaleponi is a prospect who should move up to the rankings in our next update. Makoa led the Big Reds’ backfield with 78 carries for 390 yards and seven rushing touchdowns, contributing 15.5 tackles, a TFL, and an interception. Makoa is a strong, sturdy RB with solid size at 6’0″, 210 pounds with a well-rounded running style. Makoa showed some finesse when running between the tackles, displaying a quick change of direction in close spaces and the ability to make himself small to fit through tight creases. He also does a great job using his vision to find cutback lanes and bounce runs to the outside, where he can hit his next gear to breakaway from defenses. Strong base and consistent pad level make him tough to bring down.
