About Royce

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

As a sophomore wide receiver, my focus is on route-running precision, catching consistency, and improving separation from defenders. I am still learning how to adjust to different coverages and defensive schemes.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am hungry to prove and show that I am ready to belong on the field with dynamic players. After getting my feet wet as a freshman I want more targets, more playing time and more exposure. I feel more confident but still willing to learn. I am mentally tougher and more detail oriented than a year ago. I am ready to focus on refining my route running, timing and footwork.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I play club lacrosse for Express North.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I lead by example. I have shown this through consistent effort in practice, attention to detail and toughness during games. I hold myself to higher standards being on time for practice, staying after practice and reviewing film.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Earning trust from coaches. Still rotating behind older players and being utilized in situational plays. Staying focused and motivated when I am not getting many targets as I want. I put a lot of pressure on myself to make a leap in my playing time. Balancing academics and athletics is a challenge but I am willing to put the work in.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a school that I may be able to play both football and lacrosse. I am open to a school that would best fit if I can play both sports.

Royce is a reclass transfer from the King School in Connecticut to powerhouse Tabor Academy.

Royce is a pure athlete with a dynamic skill set. His movement skills are highlighted by quickness and change of direction. Royce is the type of player you want to get the ball to in space, whether via the screen game or designed plays. He can stretch the field both horizontally and vertically. He is a multisport athlete. There is not a ton of tape on him, but with the ball in his hands he is a big play waiting to happen.
