Lawson measures in at 6’3 213-pounds and is another promising edge rusher. This past season, he had 78 total tackles (19 solo, 59 assisted), 15 TFL, 8.5 sacks, 1 FF, and 1 FR. He has very good athletic ability due to very good acceleration, change of direction, lateral quickness, and good speed. Very good initial quickness and hand speed to engage the defender first. Very good bend around the edge. Good get off speed with very good block shedding. Very good strength, hand strength, and good hand placement. Has a smooth swim move, and a powerful bull rush to knock OL off their feet. Lawson is a strong tackler and consistently makes an impact in the backfield. As a sophomore, he had 8.5 sacks, and I firmly believe he will reach that 10 + sack marker in a season.
