State Players of the Year

Voted on by coaches from their classification along with the state media these players put together outstanding seasons statistically but more importantly they lead their teams to big wins and end of season awards. Strong at the point of attack able to play both sides of the football, leadership, toughness, and heart. The junior signal caller is a true dual threat with his ability to hurt you on the ground or in the air. Poise in the pocket, with great snap on his football and throws with great anticipation are just some of the words to describe what Sweetwood can do at the quarterback position. He has the speed and size that you are looking for in a star athlete but really what separated him from everyone else in the 4A was his high football IQ that allowed him to impact the game on both sides of the football. He has great quickness and vision that allows him to make decision in the blink of an eye and then has the breakaway speed to take it the distance. He has soft hands out of the backfield and then is dangerous in the open field. He has the size and speed to impact the game on both sides of the ball. Hewett can run and catch with the best of them while being a focus of the other team's top defenders. He is going to be remembered for his game breaking ability and his toughness. He is a great athlete that really made a difference in every single game that he played in this year. He was able to really show off what he could do in the state championship game and was the best player on the field.
