Expert Analysis
Zack Reyes | Prep Redzone Scout
McCullar has been a productive player on both sides of the ball and is showing why he was a significant rankings riser ahead of his senior season with Fernley. The 6’/180 DB has racked up 31 total tackles (18 solo), 2 INTs, and 7 TDs on offense through five games. He’s a physical safety that flashes instincts as a zone defender and offers great range as a tackler. He shows his athleticism with the ball in his hands and has solid ball skills that should serve him well in the secondary at the next level. McCullar holds three D-III offers and should continue to add to that list with the senior season he’s putting together.

McCullar was a new addition to the PRZ rankings back in December and a riser in this latest update ahead of the 2025 season. He’s a physical safety that’s taken advantage of opportunities to showcase more of his coverage skill and athleticism on the offseason circuit in recent months. He was Fernley’s second leading tackler last season with 83 total (40 solo), 5 TFLs, and 2 INTs and was a productive rusher on offense with over 600 yards and 6 TDs. He’s a strong, reliable tackler in space, can play at multiple levels of the defense, and shows good range as a deep-middle safety. McCullar has picked up four D-III/NAIA offers since May.
