Expert Analysis
Zack Reyes | Prep Redzone Scout
Machado continues to be one of Nevada’s most productive tacklers currently leading the state with 97 total (64 solo) and 12 TFLs after posting 137 as a junior. He’s a lean, athletic LB at 6’2″/180 that can get sideline to sideline with the range and lateral speed he possesses. He does a good job of staying clean between the OTs, takes efficient angles in pursuit, and is a solid form tackler. Machado is a versatile defensive prospect that could play a hybrid OLB/SS role at the next level- he just picked up an offer from Eastern Oregon in September.

Machado was one of the most productive tacklers among Nevada’s juniors with 137 total and 19 TFLs this season. Versatile hybrid S/LB with high-level range and athleticism as a box defender. Shows his physicality attacking downhill between the OTs and can get sideline-to-sideline from an ILB alignment. Haven’t seen enough from a coverage standpoint to fully evaluate him as a DB but will need to add weight to his 6’2″/180 frame if he’s to play around the LOS at the next level. Machado’s an intriguing defender to keep an eye on as we head into the offseason.
