Love rushed for 279 yards and 2 TDs on just 19 carries in Fernley’s 47-7 victory over Bishop Union (CA). The 5’11″/185 senior RB showed his power and strength between the OTs on his first carry of the game which went for 50 yards. He’s a downhill bruiser that can run through tackles around the LOS and build up a head of steam past the second level. Love is looking to finish among Nevada’s most productive rushers for a third consecutive season and is off to a hot start with back to back games of 130+ rushing yards.

Love led all Nevada rushers with just under 2,000 yards and 19 TDs as a junior. He’s a high-volume rusher and one of the most productive over the past two seasons with the downhill power and contact balance he brings to the table. He looked faster and more fluid as a runner last season and has picked up three D-III offers over the past few months. Love is one of the top candidates to lead the state in rushing in 2025.

Love was the state’s leading rusher in 2024 with just under 2,000 yards and 19 TDs on 199 carries (avg. 10 ypc). Looked noticeably faster and more athletically developed this season than when he ran for over 1,300 yards and 7 TDs as a sophomore. Operates as the tailback and primary playmaker in a wing-T system where he’s shown the ability to produce at a high level between the OTs. Quick to attack the space with square shoulders and wastes limited movement getting downhill for explosive gains. Kicks in another gear at the second level and shows a good combination of contact balance and one-cut agility in the open field. Love- the #3 RB in PRZ NV’s 2026 rankings- is one of the most underrated playmakers in his class and should continue to see his stock rise over the coming months.

Love led all sophomore RBs in rushing yards with just under 1,400 and 7 TDs on 163 carries for Fernley last season. He’s a north-south, between the OTs runner that can drive his legs through initial contact around the LOS and pick up chunks of yards-after-contact. He’s a difficult player to wrap in space and shows good forward lean with the ball in his hands. Love should continue to be one of the most productive rushers in 3A as the leading playmaker for Fernley’s run-heavy offense.

Love was added to the 2026 rankings after a productive season for Fernley in which he led all NV sophomore RBs in rushing yards with nearly 1,400 yards and 7 TDs. He’s a tough, north-south runner that excels at picking up yards-after-contact with relentless leg drive and great contact balance. He efficiently gets downhill between the OTs and shows good vision in the open-field to find space and produce explosive gains. Would like to see improvement in his straight-line speed and lateral agility as a junior. Look for Love to build off his productive sophomore season in the fall.
