Expert Analysis
Andy Pham | Prep Redzone Scout
Steeler has added good weight this offseason and now over 200lbs. He has a large frame that will continue to accomodate the additional weight. Steeler moves and runs routes like a receiver but has the size and physicality of a modern day Tight End. He has strong hands and does a good job of knowing where to sit in zone coverages. He’s an exciting chess piece that can be detached from the line, used as a big slot, and moved around to get a free release. He has all the tools you want to see, and he is a P4 talent. Big time upside.

Steeler has put on good size this offseason and was part of the rotation at wide receiver. He has great length and athleticism. He adds an immediate threat to the vertical game due to his catch radius. He’ll likely end up as a big slot and tight end role, but his athleticism allows him to play as a boundary receiver.

Steeler has put in the work this offseason, and he is a great route runner for a tight end. His skill set will allow him to be out wide as a boundary receiver to be a mismatch versus cornerbacks, in the slot against safeties, and even as the detached tight end. His footwork is excellent, and he moves well for his size and transitions well downfield. He has strong hands, and he is a player who is ready to break out. He has all the tools you want to see in a young player, and he is a Power-Four starter.

Wesley is an exceptional talent and a mismatch. He has great footwork and is a good route runner. He can be lined up anywhere and is a chess piece. He can be lined up as a traditional tight end or can be detached and lined up out wide. He’s too big and physical for cornerbacks and too fast and twitchy for linebackers and most safeties. He has an exceptional ceiling and will be a Power-Four recruit and the epitome of the modern-day tight end.

During the 7’s event, Wesley showed great footwork and route running. His routes are more crisp and footwork is much cleaner. He’s had a fantastic offseason, and with his size and length will get ample playing time this year.

Wesley had a great showing and moves well for his size. He lined up in the slot and out wide during the 7’s and was a mismatch due to his skillset. He’s going to develop into a chess piece and I prefer him as a move tight end. A few reasons for that, his frame is already quite big and he’s continuing to grow and get bigger, he can be a mismatch against linebackers as he’s too quick and athletic for them, and too tall and strong for safeties. He projects as a high ceiling player with Power-Four tools and traits, he will be recruited as such.

Wesley has an excellent frame and has room to grow into it. 205-215 lbs should be within his grasp without limiting his quickness and overall athletic traits. Once he grows into that frame, he’ll be an absolute force. Wesley showcases excellent footwork with good lateral quickness. He has a good hip sink and is quick out of his breaks without much-wasted movement. Wesley showcases strong hands and gets vertical with ease. He shows good concentration at the catch point and can be used inline or detached as a chess piece. He projects to be a player that gets Power-Four offers.
