Sauer being unsigned is one of the more surprising available quarterbacks in the class. He has all of the desired intangibles for a sought-after quarterback prospect, especially at the D2 level. He has great size, a strong arm, and impressive athleticism. His decision-making and accurate ball placement earned him a spot in the record books for his school. Sauer is a player who can come into a program and immediately compete for the job, making his availability a head-scratcher.
