Fortman made an impact on his freshman team and is looking to ball out at the varsity level. He measures in at 5’8 152-pounds. He has good athletic ability due to very good acceleration, change of direction, good speed, and jumping. Fortman uses his good release to get the upper hand against both off coverage and the press jam. He displays fluid route running skills and very good separation quickness. Outruns his opponent or fights through contact. Fortman has very good ball adjustment and good body control. Adjusts to over the shoulder throws with ease or if it’s thrown below him. Good ball tracking and catching. After the catch, he’ll use his dynamic jump cuts to juke out defenders and gain extra yardage. I’m looking forward to seeing how he improved his game this off-season!

Fortman balled out this past season for his freshman team. He had 28 receptions with 487 total yards with 8 touchdowns. Good athletic ability due to very good acceleration, change of direction, good speed, and jumping. Very good release against both off coverage and press jam. Fortman has very good separation quickness with fluid route running. Very good body control and adjustment. He does a great job with over the shoulder catches too. Good concentration on tipped passes to make the catch. Fortman gains extra yards after contact by shedding would-be tacklers and running through them. He’s a homerun threat with the ball in his hands, and I believe he’s already ready to make an impact on the varsity level.

Fortman caught my eye during the event. He has big hands to catch the ball. Good athletic ability due to very good change of direction, good acceleration, speed, and jumping. Good balance and agility. He was 6th at the event for the L-drill, and 20th for the pro shuttle. Fortman did a great job during the 7 on 7 portion. Very good release paired with crisp route running skills and very good separation quickness. Good ball tracking and very good catching. Good body control and adjustment. He’s a name to know going forward and balled out.
