Glenville State has signed two in-state quarterbacks in their 2024 recruiting class with the higher-ranked one being East Fairmont’s Ian Crookshanks Ian Crookshanks 6'1" | 200 lbs | QB East Fairmont | 2024 State WV . He just missed ranking inside our Top 50 and finished as the #6 QB in the state which had some talented passers in the 2024 class. The Pioneers nabbed two quarterbacks inside our Top 10 including the #2 and #4 QBs with D2 grades.

rnEast Fairmont quarterback  Ian Crookshanks Ian Crookshanks 6'1" | 200 lbs | QB East Fairmont | 2024 State WV  ranks as our #6 QB in the 2024 class and capped off a great high school career which saw him throw for nearly 6,000 yards and 61 touchdowns along with 1,100 rushing yards and 32 more scores during his time as a Bee. Crookshanks is a physically built quarterback at 6’1 200 who is more of a bulldozing runner than a fast one. He has a big arm that can toss bombs and throw with zip on short and intermediate throws. High academic student posting a 4.28 GPA and will sign with a D2 school come February. A tough and physical quarterback with arm talent to match it. Throws a pretty deep ball that can stretch defenses vertically. Calm in the pocket and doesn’t panic but as mentioned is athletic enough to take off and run along with being capable of executing designed QB runs. Crookshanks can also throw with touch and lay passes in softly showing he’s not just a fastball pitcher so to speak.

The Bees’ QB1 was a PRZ WV Class AA Honorable Mention All-State quarterback and All-Big 10 selection this season while leading his team to the playoffs.

East Fairmont High School will have one of the top overall quarterbacks in the state this season with 2024 QB Ian Crookshanks Ian Crookshanks 6'1" | 200 lbs | QB East Fairmont | 2024 State WV . The 6’1 200 rising senior had a very productive junior season throwing for over 1,700 yards and 23 touchdowns and leading his team to a Class AA playoff berth. Crookshanks is a true pocket passer that does most of his damage from the pocket but can scramble and run when needed. He does a nice job standing strong in the pocket and doesn’t panic when it begins to collapse. He showed really nice arm strength last season and can push the ball downfield well. Crookshanks throws a pretty ball with a tight spiral and can really put some zip on his throws. He recently picked up an offer from D2 West Virginia State and should continue to receive more throughout the summer and this season.

Ian Crookshanks will be a rising Senior at East Fairmont High School (WV). In 2022, he completed 123 of 224 passes for 1719 yards and 23 touchdowns. He added 328 and 11 touchdowns on the ground. In 3 seasons, Crookshanks has accounted for over 4000 yards of total offense, which is a school record he will continue to build on during the 2023 season.

Crookshanks possesses a strong arm and excels in the vertical passing game. Ian exhibits good touch on deep balls and is delivers over-the-shoulder throws extremely well. He throws well on the run and keeps his eyes downfield to allow receivers to come open and extend plays. Crookshanks makes quick reads and delivers the ball on time. He is a very accurate passer and demonstrates command of the offense.

Crookshanks will benefit from polishing his mechanics and developing a more over-the-top throwing motion.

Crookshanks demonstrates adequate speed and is a tough runner that fights for extra yards and does not shy away from contact.

Ian has a 4.0 GPA and his intelligence serves him well on the field.

Crookshanks’ strong arm and field vision translate well to the next level.
