‘s potential ahead of next season, and I’m one of them. In just 5 games and 13 receptions, he managed to reel in 419 yards and 4 TDs. He also found 13 tackles on defense with 2 TFLs. Plain and simple, this kid is a playmaker. He does an excellent job of tracking the ball, and even when there are multiple defenders contesting the pass, he still finds a way to bring it down. He boasts both solid top-end speed with a 4.5 50, and the acceleration to make him a viable deep threat prospect. Kelly-Taylor currently holds 3 offers, with only one being D2. If he can recreate some of the insane success he saw last season, I think we’ll see more offers flow in.

only had 13 receptions last season, but he put up a ridiculous stat-line on such a short amount of touches, finishing with 419 receiving yards and 4 touchdowns, averaging a whopping 32.2 yards per reception. Kelly-Taylor was one of the most difficult receivers in the conference to guard against in man coverage, and his combination of length, speed, agility, and understated strength made him a dangerous deep-threat for Bloomington Jefferson. Kelly-Taylor boasts an impressive 4.56 40 yard time and a 315 lb max squat, showcasing some potential D1-level athleticism. It’s hard to ignore Kelly-Taylor’s big-play potential, and he could be a potential diamond in the rough for prospecting teams currently looking at him.

is not only one of the state’s fastest players, he’s also one of the PrepRedzoneMN 2026 Rankings Updates Top Newcomers, and is on a short list of vaunted instate juniors to earn a visit from the home state Minnesota Gophers at his high school, as well as the Iowa State Cyclones. Kelly-Taylor debuted at #34 in the state’s 2026 Big Board at the time of the last update, largely due to some newly verified speed and some exciting junior tape. The 6’2, 170 lber. is a great example of what an offseason showcase can do for a prospect’s stock. Unfortunately, Kelly-Taylor’s junior campaign was cut short in 2024 thanks to an injury, and his presence was sorely missed by the Jags, who earned their only two wins of the season while the wideout was healthy. With some game reps missing from his in-season resume, Kelly-Taylor came into the offseason motivated and ready to make some waves after recording 13 catches for 419 yards and 4 TDs in five games of 2024 action, and that explosive yards per catch average was backed up athletically after the junior came into this past December’s Stock-Up Showcase ready to work. The wide receiver came in at right around 6’2, 160, and during testing he went 4.56 in the 40, 4.65 in the shuttle, and 9’2 broad jump to put a spotlight on some top-tier athleticism that was sure to catch the attention of college scouts. Unsurprisingly, major programs came knocking, with Iowa State CB coach Hank Poteat stopping by the Jags for a visit, as well as Minnesota’s CRO Nick Lee and NDSU’s Carlton Littlejohn. North Dakota and Augustana has also sent a junior day invite.
Kelly-Taylor’s game-changing speed shows up in a variety of ways in only a midseason’s worth of tape and game reps. Possessing a big play skillset that can easily take the top off the defense and burn man and zone coverage alike, blowing by CBs playing off-man and safeties acting as the last line of defense in pass coverage and either in a two-high single safety set. It’s also fun to see his acceleration when tracking and playing the deep ball in the air, and that same burst shows up when he’s pulling away from defenders after the catch and in space. The Jags rising senior possesses the kind of explosiveness that can turn a game on its head and needs to be accounted for every offensive rep of a ball game. Going to be a big offseason for the Bloomington product.

makes a big-time debut on the Big Board in large part due to a fantastic showing at December’s PrepRedzoneMN Showcase. Now verified at 6’2, 160+, Kelly-Taylor popped off an eye-catching 4.56 40, 4.65 shuttle, and 9’2 broad jump to put a spotlight on some top-tier athleticism that was sure to catch the attention of college scouts. Unsurprisingly, major programs came knocking, with Iowa State CB coach Hank Poteat stopping by the Jags for a visit, as well as Minnesota’s CRO Nick Lee and NDSU’s Carlton Littlejohn. North Dakota has also sent a junior day invite.
The Jags only have their stats updated to the midseason point, and they went 2-7 in 2024, but Kelly-Taylor still managed to catch 13 passes for 419 yards and 4 TDs through 5 games before an injury unfortunately ended the young man’s season. However, the film still flashes, particularly in that same speed department that showed up so well during December’s PRzMN Showcase. Kelly-Taylor possesses a big play skillset and uses that noticeable speed to eat up DB cushions and make himself hard to handle for waiting safeties, especially once he gets a full head of steam and gets up to top gear. Kelly-Taylor tracks the deep ball well and does a good job of pulling away from DBs once the ball is in the air, and is also balanced, quick, elusive, and can finish big runs once he gets to the third level of the defense or takes the sideline. I also like his contested catch ability, and he can fully extend and pluck the ball out of the air over the middle and in high-traffic situations. Jefferson got their only two wins of the season when Kelly-Taylor was healthy, so he and the Jags will be itching to get back on the gridiron in 2025. We love the 6’2, standouts athleticism and ability but a strong showing on the offseason camp circuit is going to be critical for the young Jaguar to show that he can apply that athleticism to the gridiron. Fun name to watch this offseason!
