About Kingston
How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?
I play with size, length, and a physical edge that comes out when the game demands it. But what separates me is my football IQ — I read offensive tendencies quickly and use that recognition to get off the ball and disrupt plays before they develop. I compete hard on every snap and I don't take plays off.
Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?
I love competing and I love my teammates. I'm the guy who keeps practice fun and the energy high — but when the lights come on, I'm all business. There's a switch that flips on game day and I bring an intensity and aggression that I don't apologize for — and my teammates feed off of it. I think that balance is what makes me who I am as a player.
Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?
I'm a member of Honor Society and take Honors and AP courses every year because I take my academics as seriously as my athletics. Outside the classroom, I stay active in Show Choir — which demands more physical conditioning than people expect — and I'm a consistent participant in Jag Power, Jefferson's after-school lifting program. Football opens doors, but grades keep them open.
What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?
I've been honored to serve as game captain for the Jaguars multiple times and try to lead by example in effort, attitude, and how I treat my teammates. I volunteer at Bloomington's Youth Football Camp mentoring younger players, and each year I place flags at Fort Snelling National Cemetery before Memorial Day — honoring veterans and our own Tom Burnett, a Jefferson QB and 9/11 hero.
Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.
My biggest challenges have come from my own body. Growing to 6'4" meant constantly relearning my coordination and body control as my frame changed beneath me. I've had to work hard to harness my size rather than fight it. The other challenge was willingly stepping away from my natural position to play Center when my team needed me. I took pride in that sacrifice and it made me a smarter, more comp
What type of college are you looking for?
I'm looking for the right fit across all fronts — a program where I can compete at the next level, a strong Engineering or STEM academic program, and a campus where I feel at home. I'm open to any size school, any division, and any location. Big school energy and tight-knit community both appeal to me. The right culture and opportunity matter more than anything else.
