The Chapmanville Tigers will return a strong group of starters from last year's 5-5 team and could potentially make the playoffs if they pull out some big wins. They'll face a very tough 2024 schedule that will test them mightily throughout the season, but there are wins to be had. If the Tigers can stay healthy through weeks 3-6 they'll have a big matchup with Wayne coming out of their bye week that will be pivotal for their playoff aspirations. Chapmanville will have the quarterback and skill players to put points on the board this season with potential fireworks in some back-and-forth shootouts with several teams on their schedule. Finishing strong in the last four games of the season will be crucial for their postseason resume and will determine if the Tigers make the playoffs after a year-long hiatus.

2025 Chapmanville QB [player_tooltip player_id='1180488' first='Robert' last='Cook'] has had a strong off-season over the summer and has garnered himself some attention. Cook caught our eye at the PRZ WV Combine in May where he was a Best of the Rest performer and also earned MVP honors at the GCOH Camp this year too. He's ready to have a big season on the field this fall for the Tigers and could earn some offers from he D2 & D3 levels with a strong senior season.

Here's what we said about Cook in our 2025 summer rankings New Additions article:

"Once labeled an ATH on our site, Chapmanville's [player_tooltip player_id='1180488' first='Robert' last='Cook'] is now firmly considered a QB in our rankings after having the chance to see him in person at our combine event back in May. Cook's film and stats from a season ago don't tell the full story of his capabilities as a passer which he has proven at multiple camps this off-season. He's a physically impressive athlete in person with quality athleticism that originally led us to believe he was more of an ATH prospect than QB with his running ability. While it's still possible he may switch positions at the next level, Cook proved he has the arm talent to play quarterback in college too."

Another PRZ WV Combine participant who impressed us in person was 2025 Chapmanville linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='1126832' first='Elijah' last='Pridemore']. He's an under-the-radar player in the recruiting world but produced a very good junior campaign for the Tigers that earned him some accolades. Size will be the trait that hurts his stock as a college prospect, but Pridemore will be a steal at the D3 level if he ends up there.

He was a WVSWA Class AA First Team All-State linebacker last season for the Tigers where he totaled over 130 tackles, 13 TFLs, and 6 sacks. While he may not have elite size for his position, Pridemore has quality athleticism and tested well for a linebacker. He ran a 4.84 40, 4.44 pro shuttle, and a 7.6-second L Drill which were some of the best out of the linebacker group in attendance. He showed good footwork and quick feet during individual drills and moves well both laterally and vertically."

Film is very limited of 2026 Chapmanville TE [player_tooltip player_id='1137047' first='Benji' last='Adkins'] but the potential and upside are obvious in his game. You can't teach 6'5 and athletic which Adkins has plenty of from his basketball background. He's likely farther ahead as a basketball player right now but has a high ceiling as a football prospect if he chooses to develop in that sport. Adkins is a name to tuck away and monitor over the next two seasons as more film becomes available, but we're confident in saying he'll have scholarship offers for football if he wants to.

The Chapmanville Tigers have a promising 2026 linebacker prospect in [player_tooltip player_id='1139377' first='Preston' last='Kovach'] who ranks just outside of our Top 15 for the position. Kovach was the second-leading tackler for the Tigers as a sophomore in 2023 with 64 total in just 7 games played and should take a step forward in 2024 as a junior. He has good size for the position and has put on weight since last season and is now up to 210 pounds. Kovach is a stout and rangy middle linebacker prospect who has the athleticism to roam and the strength and size to play well between the tackles. He can produce in the open field or at the line of scrimmage with versatility in his style of play. Kovach can also deliver a big hit when his shoulders are square and is a consistent tackler which led him to average nearly 10 tackles per game.

[player_tooltip player_id='1137688' first='Austin' last='Adkins'] led the Tigers in receiving as a sophomore in 2023 and will return for his junior season which could see him hit even better numbers as a junior. Adkins caught 28 passes for 551 yards and 3 touchdowns while averaging nearly 20 yards per catch. He also got involved in the running game with 125 yards and 3 more scores and was the all-purpose yards leader with just over 1,000 total. Adkins is another Chapmanville prospect that we were able to see in person at the PRZ WV Combine and showed off quality lateral quickness during testing and you can see that trait in his sophomore film. He has very good feet and change of direction ability which makes him a difficult tackle in the open field. Adkins' YAC ability is impressive and led to his high average as a sophomore.

[player_tooltip player_id='1268282' first='Jeremy' last='Collins'] had a sneaky good season for the Tigers in 2023 as a sophomore in the running game and at defensive back. He earned Top Performer honors at the PRZ WV Combine and has the raw athleticism to develop into a skilled playmaker for the Tigers which he flashed last season. We don't have any film of Collins to this point but seeing him in person told us he's a prospect to know and follow over the next two years.

Here's what we said about Collins in our 2026 summer rankings New Additions article:

"Chapmanville WR [player_tooltip player_id='1268282' first='Jeremy' last='Collins'] was a huge surprise Top Performer at our combine this year and seemingly came out of nowhere and performed well among some very talented other prospects. Collins was completely off our radar before the camp and demanded a placement inside the Top 150 after seeing him in person. Collins played mostly running back for the Tigers last season where he led them in rushing and didn't catch a single pass. He worked out at receiver at our camp and stood out among some other highly thought of pass catchers who we knew coming into the event. At 5'8 165, he's a bit undersized still but tested well with a 4.75 40, 4.43 pro shuttle, and a 7.5 L Drill with defensive back potential as well where he finished third in tackles on the team last season."

Chapmanville has a 2026 long-snapper prospect that you need to know for the next two seasons in [player_tooltip player_id='1137060' first='Christopher' last='Richards']. Richards handled both PAT/FG and punt snapping as a sophomore last season and is versatile in that aspect. Size will be the one trait working against him for the LS position pending further growth, but Richards has quality fundamentals for a young long-snapper at this stage of his career. He showed consistent ball placement and spiral in his sophomore film in both responsibilities for the position. Richards is a willing blocker even being undersized and is steadily getting stronger. He is typically in the 12-yard snap range with solid velocity on his snaps and will continue to get quicker in that aspect.

We'd like to see more film of Richards covering punts to determine his athleticism for the position further, but he'll be one of the top long-snappers in the 2026 class.
