2025 Chapmanville QB Robert Cook Robert Cook 6'2" | 185 lbs | ATH Chapmanville | 2025 State WV has had a strong off-season over the summer and has garnered himself some attention. Cook caught our eye at the PRZ WV Combine in May where he was a Best of the Rest performer and also earned MVP honors at the GCOH Camp this year too. He’s ready to have a big season on the field this fall for the Tigers and could earn some offers from he D2 & D3 levels with a strong senior season.
Here’s what we said about Cook in our 2025 summer rankings New Additions article:
“Once labeled an ATH on our site, Chapmanville’s Robert Cook Robert Cook 6'2" | 185 lbs | ATH Chapmanville | 2025 State WV is now firmly considered a QB in our rankings after having the chance to see him in person at our combine event back in May. Cook’s film and stats from a season ago don’t tell the full story of his capabilities as a passer which he has proven at multiple camps this off-season. He’s a physically impressive athlete in person with quality athleticism that originally led us to believe he was more of an ATH prospect than QB with his running ability. While it’s still possible he may switch positions at the next level, Cook proved he has the arm talent to play quarterback in college too.”

While he’s on that D2/D3 border for which level he ends up at eventually, Cook can play himself into some scholarship opportunities with a big senior season and become a high stock riser in our final rankings.

We consider Chapanville’s Robert Cook Robert Cook 6'2" | 185 lbs | ATH Chapmanville | 2025 State WV as an ATH right now on our Watch List as someone who has the athleticism to be versatile for which position he plays at the next level but showed his ability as a quarterback shouldn’t be overlooked during the Combine. He stood out right away amongst the quarterback group at the event from a physical build standpoint. Cook is built very well for the position and further proved our hunch that he has the athleticism to be able to move around at the next level positionally. His arm is a work in progress, but Cook still made some nice throws during the event and was worth mentioning as one of the best of the rest quarterbacks there.
We’ll be watching him next season to see if he continues to make strides in his passing ability to determine whether he’ll be ranked as an ATH or if a move to QB in the rankings will be in order.

Chapmanville 2025 prospect Robert Cook Robert Cook 6'2" | 185 lbs | ATH Chapmanville | 2025 State WV wrapped up an Honorable Mention All-State season in 2023 and is looking to take the next step in his game heading into his senior year. He’s an intriguing prospect that we consider an ATH right now but played quarterback for the Tigers last season. Our question for Cook at the combine is should he be considered an ATH or a QB in our rankings and as a prospect? Cook is a versatile athlete who could likely play WR or DB at the next level but could prove he can also play quarterback too if he decides to work out as a QB at the combine. He’s someone we’ll be tracking his testing numbers closely to further confirm those claims of his positional versatility if he’s able to put up impressive numbers. We’ll learn a lot about Cook at the event who could be a big stock riser with a strong performance.
