This group of athletes caught our eyes with both their athletic talent and their position versatility. These athletes were two way players for their lower level teams, whether that be the JV squad or the purely freshman team. Despite the high rep counts, these kids were still able to stand out from the crowd and prove that they are legitimate playmakers with athleticism and power that is at a different level than their peers. We believe that this group of athletes could earn varsity spots at one of their former positions and garner very early college coach attention. Let's dive into the versatile group!

It takes a special talent and the right situation for an underclassman to play both ways on varsity, but if any of these kids in today's article is going to do it Brock is that kid. He is one of those athletes that are easy to scout. His frame is further developed that rest of the field. His 6'2" 180 lbs frame looks almost out of place. His body control and awareness of how to move himself to be successful is ahead of the curve. The pure athleticism he has while roaming the field at safety or getting behind his CB on deep passes looks effortless at the lower level. Between his ball skills, size, and range/speed I'm not sure if he fits better at safety or WR and I believe we will see him on varsity at one of those spots this fall. The question is do we see him at both positions. I'm excited to find out and next level recruiters should keep an eye on him.

Max is right in line with Brock when you watch his tape. The dude towers over most of the field at 6'2" 180 lbs. It is one thing to just be bigger. That only lasts so long because the crowd will catch up. Where these kids, like Max, are special is the full package they bring with that size. On offense, Max is showing the speed and quickness to stack CBs on deep passes. He is making effective route breaks to open up separation. The '27 is attacking the ball in the air and easily adjusting to it on the fly. On defense Baehman is showing quick play recognition and an aggressive trigger to attack downhill. Mukwonago always has a deep roster, so it may be hard for the sophomore to find a role on varsity. At the same time, he does have the talent level where I wouldn't be surprised to see him on Friday nights.

The trend continues as our next two way 2027 star is an impressive 6'2" 190 lbs playing safety and TE for Muskego. At TE Braedon was a rough matchup for any LB/S to draw. He got clean releases, was able to stretch the field up the seam, shows that he can use his body to protect the ball at the catch, and he has soft hands to give his QB a large catch radius. On defense we have less examples on tape so far, but he has the size for the position and we see some impressive read and react from him while in a deep zone. At his current size, safety might be his best fit on varsity, but his play as a receiving option could also translate to Fridays.

Tristan is an interesting prospect that could work his way onto varsity this fall and I wouldn't be surprised. He has a unique combo of positions, RB/DL. At 6'2" 205 lbs, the 2027 has the frame to grow into a force at either position. Hortonville is pumping out explosive, physical DL on the regular these days and Tristan could be next up with his powerful get off at the snap and closing speed in the backfield. On offense, the big RB also has that hard nosed running style that they like. So I could see him fitting there too as a backup option. He breaks tackles, has enough speed to get outside in the open field. This is a prospect I will be watching closely on the field, and will be interested to see how his body grows over the coming years as he finds he true home on the varsity team.

Cayden is one of those RB/LB combos that you are confident will be a varsity athlete for a few years. That is because he plays both positions with the same aggressive, tenacious play style. On defense the LB played like a three down LB, flying downhill against the run and avoiding blocks on the way to making tackles. He also was fluid in coverage and looks like a natural reading the eyes of the QB. On offense Cayden also looks like a future three down option with his impactful pass blocking and downhill running style supplemented by an effective burst and contact balance to create extra yards. I'm excited to see the career unfold of the 6' 200 lbs 2027.

Tucker played primarily LB as a freshman with some work as an RB mixed in throughout the season. The 2027 definitely looks like one of those early bloomers in his Class. He has built a strong, stout 6' 195 lbs frame and along with that has developed some sound instincts as an LB. He moves with the flow of the play, maintains his gap responsibility, and gets to the ball without getting blocked. Brock's size and budding physicality also stand out with his play between the tackles. Don't sleep on the northern WI 2027 this fall.
