About Wyatt
Expert Analysis

Wyatt has started to pick up some legitimate interest, most recently picking up an offer from Coach Stuursma and Hope College. Wyatt is a powerful EDGE with the ability to rip and dip and create a ton of chaos. He explodes out of his stance and has the motor to chase down the play from the back side. Both as a run stopper and as a true pas rusher, Metzger has been showing quite a few flashes over the last couple of seasons. 2026 could be the year it all comes together and blows people away.

I’m curious to see how colleges view Wyatt. This season, Wyatt had a handful of bright moments, as displayed by his highlight tape. Wyatt’s size, length, and agility allowed him to quickly swim or rip past slower offensive linemen. He earned a good number of “free trips” into the backfield and did well when confronted with runs to his side of the field. Still, I do have questions regarding Wyatt’s physicality, anchor, and bend. He’s someone that I don’t have a great handle on right now, but I do absolutely see the upside. I would expect D3s and D2s to take a look at Wyatt this offseason.

Take a look at Wyatt’s tape. He checks a lot of boxes. The biggest box he checks for me is explosiveness off the edge. Wyatt has a couple of highlights where he explodes off the ball faster than the tackle can get out of his stance, easily turning the corner and wrecking the play. Plus, Wyatt shows decent bend. Especially if Wyatt’s size is accurate, he could be a major sleeper in this class.
Honestly, I feel that Wyatt needs to prove himself in the offseason. Camp season is almost over, so next offseason will likely be vital for his recruitment. If Wyatt can put up even better performances this season and attend a few D2 camps next season, I could easily see Wyatt earning attention from several Michigan colleges.

Wyatt is one of the most polished and well rounded edge rushers in this class. He has plenty of tools in the tool bag, and his mix of size and athleticism makes him a tough player to slow down.
His highlights were a nice mix of push and pull moves, swim moves and utilizing his long limbs to keep blockers out of his chest. When setting the edge, he is able to anchor down on kick out blocks and is still able to turn everything back inside. His first step is good, his moves are diverse and his motor is superior to nearly everyone in this class.
