Herrera measures in at 6’3 185-pounds, playing QB and DB for Pueblo South. He went 164/247 for 2879 yards, 66.4% completion rate, 32 TDs, 9 INT, 87 carries for 392 yards with 4 touchdowns, 41 total tackles (29 solo, 12 assisted), 2 TFL, 2 sacks, 1 INT, 3 FF, and 1 PD. Caeden has very good athletic ability due to very good acceleration, speed, jumping, good change of direction, and balance. He has very good throw power with a very quick release. He’s able to fit the ball downfield effortlessly. Very good pocket presence. Herrera stays poised under pressure, and has good pocket mobility. Uses his good progression speed, and if no one’s open; he’ll use his very good scramble ability to get the first down. Very good ball placement skills. He throws it in stride with his receiver, or above them if they need to make a play. Herrera brings that same energy to the defensive side with his good read and reaction speed and tackling. I can see him impacting a D2 team.

Herrera has lead his team to a 5-2 record going 2-0 in conference play. The 6’3 185-pound passer has 97/146 for 1527 yards, 66.4 % completion rate, with 19 TDs and 3 INT, and 58 carries for 229 yards. Herrera looks even better than last year. has a very quick release paired with very good throw power allowing him to fit the ball in tight windows. Very good ball placement skills. He will throw in stride of his receiver, or right on the money. In contested situations, he will throw the ball up for his guy to make a play. Herrera stays poised in the pocket, going through his progressions and finding the open man downfield. Under pressure, he stays calm or uses his good scramble ability to roll out for a first down. Good roll out ability to the left with his snappy hips. Herrera has been consistent not throwing the ball in harms way, and will continue propelling Pueblo South’s ceiling into the playoffs.

Herrera continues to impress as one of the most dynamic dual-threat quarterbacks in 3A. Completing 91 of 138 passes for 1,392 yards and 15 touchdowns, Herrera’s efficiency through the air is matched by his ability to make plays with his legs. On the ground, he’s added 231 rushing yards, forcing defenses to account for him on every snap. His composure in the pocket combined with his mobility gives his team a balanced offensive attack capable of exploding at any moment. As his squad looks ahead to the postseason, Herrera’s leadership and versatility will be critical factors in their playoff success.

I’ve spoken about Herrera before, and his performance was no different than the tape. Caeden has very good throw power, and that was on display throughout the event. He launched the ball with ease and made it look effortless. In the 7 v 7 drills, Herrera showed his very good ball placement skills. He’d place the ball in stride, or throw it right above the WR & DB, allowing the WR to make the play on the ball. In the footwork drills, he showcases his fluid snappy hips. If he messed up on a play, he came back the next and dominated it. Pueblo South has a good one on their hands.

Herrera demonstrated outstanding accuracy for most of the day, consistently placing the ball where only his receivers could make a play. His intermediate passing was a strength, hitting receivers coming out of breaks with excellent timing. Herrera stood out particularly in 3v2 drills, fitting throws into tight windows and making smart decisions under pressure. With continued consistency, he has the tools to become one of the state’s top signal-callers.

Leading all 3A junior QBs in passing yards and touchdowns, Herrera made his mark on Pueblo South. Went 165/258 for 2480 yards, a 64% completion rate with 30 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. On the ground, he rushed 65 times for 174 yards and 1 touchdown. Herrera played as a DB too, totaling 33 tackles (24 solo, 8 assisted) and 3 pass deflections. Herrera’s very good throw power stands out to me when I put on the film. He can launch the ball in the air with ease, and can make all the throws needed for a QB. He has a good release paired with very good ball placement skills. If his WR is running, he’ll throw it in stride. If the WR has defenders on him, he’ll throw it high for the contested catch. Very fluid hips. He has very good mental processing. Herrera keeps his eyes downfield with pressure, going through his progressions to find the open man. He doesn’t hold onto the ball taking meaningless sacks as well. His performance as DB can’t be understated. He brings a tenacity to the field, and has good tackling. Another exciting 2026 prospect to watch out for.

Herrera is a QB that has the ability to escape the pocket and pick up yards with his legs but is more of a pocket passer. He is a timing QB that can excel in the intermediate range, using touch to get it over the backers head. He will be a QB looking to cut back on the turnovers but will be an under the radar guy to keep an eye on this season.
