Prep Redzone Dakotas Combine: Top Running Backs, Part I

He popped out early from the eye-test perspective, while he showed plenty of dexterity with his lower body especially for his age. Watching Knoxx's athletic movement also showed off the fluidity I like to see when I evaluate the running back position. That dexterity I caught early, matched up with Knoxx's testing numbers for pro agility and the L-Drill, as Knoxx was one the top testers in pro-agility (4.39) amongst the tailback group. Later in drills, Knoxx also showed off that he has quick-vision for his age. Hardly ever at our Prep Redzone Combines do you see 8th graders making our positional top performers lists at the end of the combine, in which watching this kid's durability during a hard-nosed 1v1 rep showed off just like what I saw in Indy and on tape prior to the combine. Our top tester across all positons in the 40-yard dash (4.67) showed off to be about 15 pounds stronger than our last live evaluation but no doubt consistently showed off the burst and finish in Soiux Falls. Waylon also impressed with his versatility he has for the running back position, as one that has plenty of traits to that the position needs as one that has the all-around talent. Would love to see Waylon develop his agility further as those testing numbers I guarantee will improve by next fall due to this kid's work ethic. Sully showed off athletically with his instinct that I saw with his agility with his cuts come thru with high fluidity. Sully was the top running back in testing with his L-Drill (7.22) in which he dominated with consistency within the group. He also was a prospect that was almost spot on with his pre-combine measureables to what he came into camp with. This kid's instinct also transitioned well too in Indy Drills, as Sully seemed like a RB that picked up new or revised his skillsets quickly which is a contribution to his growing football IQ. He added an impressive skillset that didn't appear on tape which was his pass-catching ability which was one of his soundest traits all day as high-traffic or not, catch every ball that came his way. Mack also showed that he plays with a chip on his shoulder as I loved the energy this kid showed off in Sioux Falls all day on every rep he got. You can tell by his consistent 40-yard dash numbers he has been working extensively on his speed, as Connor logged a 4.69 40 yard dash in Sioux Falls. He also showed off a lot of explosive skillsets with his growing upside as he jumped an 8'11 in the broad jump, and watching his sudden burst during Indy drills also passed my eye test as well.
