There have been many Seniors who picked up right where they left off as Juniors and underclassman that proved they are some of the top payers at their position regardless of class. Below, we will take a look and break down some of the top performances from week 4 of the season.
Kaden Mcleod, Vanden HS
The 2021 linebacker had 12+ tackles and one sack against Vacaville High School Friday night. A very active and smart second level defender that plays with terrific natural instincts and strong open field tacking abilities.
Hassan Mahasin Hassan Mahasin 5'10" | 175 lbs | ATH Serra - San Mateo | 2022 State CA , Serra HS
Having one of the best seasons of any player in the entire state, the Serra High School product added another 4 touchdowns this week in a WCAL clash and will look to continue to add to his 9 total touchdowns in an impressive only 3 games. He has Power Five abilities at the next level and will be a terrific get for any program.
Marcus Sanders, James Logan HS
The big bodied pocket passer threw for 4 touchdowns in the Colt’s win this past weekend. He has a strong arm and good pocket awareness while able to stretch the field vertically with good velocity and touch.
Chase Vehmeyer, Windsor HS
A very athletic quarterback, he thew for an impressive 4 TD’s against one of the best front 7’s in the region. Vehmeyer can move in the pocket well and throw across his body while able to throw into tight windows on in-breaking and vertical routes with good air underneath his balls. The ’22 signal caller also possesses a quick release and is a running threat outside of the pocket.
Elijah Satcher, Salesian HS
Headed to Cal Poly for college, Satcher is a terrific jumbo athlete that projects as a 4-3 defensive end at the next level. In week 4, he had 3 receptions for 100 yards and 2 TD’s while adding a sack and numerous pressures. A high upside prospect that will be an elite pass rusher at the next level, he will be a dominant force in the Big Sky in the coming years.
Jet Wiley, Christian Brothers HS
Only a second year player at the high school level, Wiley is one of the top receivers in Northern California in the 2023 class. A true vertical threat with terrific hands and ball location skills, he has exploded over the past two weeks and has hauled in 11 receptions for 275 yards and two touchdowns. Holding good upside at the next level, he will continue to be a dominant force for Christian Brothers over the next two seasons.
Darian Leon-Guerrero, Vacaville HS
Leon Guerreo is a tough runner with strong acceleration through the first level and runs through contact while showing good balance and leg drive with the ability to break arm/ankle tackles. A versatile player that can play multiple positions, he has rushed for an impressive 9 touchdowns in 3 games and is the leader in the backfield for a tough and physical Vacaville squad.
Adam Garwood, Los Gatos HS
Garwood is a work horse back with D-II+ abilities at the next level. A downhill and well put together runner that can get North and South in a hurry while running with natural forward lean and a low pad level, he understands open field angles and can make defenders miss in traffic. Last week he rushed for 166 yards on only 12 carries and added another 3 touchdowns.
Jack Catterton, San Ramon Valley HS
Catterton is a very active outside linebacker and has next level talent. Having terrific closing speed and open field tackling abilities, he triggers well to ball carriers and can cover ground well while bringing a good thump upon contact. Physical enough to get off blocks in a hurry, he shows good lateral movement abilities and fluid hips in space. Last week he had a team high 16 tackles, 6 for loss and 4 PBU’s.
