has also proven to be a multi-talented weapon that has been equally frustrating for opponents to stop. Zingler finished with 803 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns, averaging 8 yards per carry, along with 12 catches for 145 yards and 2 receiving touchdowns, and 2 passing touchdowns. On defense, Zingler led the team with 99 tackles, 3 TFLs, a sack, and a FF. Not to mention, Zingler added a kick return touchdown and also punted on special teams. Swift and slippery to tackle, Zingler is an excellent tailback, showing great footwork and consistently fighting through contact to gain extra yardage as Randolph finds way to give him the ball being lined up in different spots. At MLB, Zingler’s speed translates well as he’s able to close down distance on the ball-carrier quickly, attacking the open gaps and lanes well, and proving to be a tough head-on tackler. Of course, Zingler is used in so many roles that it makes it almost unpredictable to determine where he’ll be and what he will do on each play, which makes him a dangerous asset for Randolph.

Prepredzonemn ranking 172/Ranked #3 in the 189AA weight class by The Guillotine
Zingler does a little bit of everything for the Rockets. As a running back, he rushed for nearly 1000 yards. He is a powerful runner with quick feet to avoid tacklers instead of always running defenders over. That power makes him a devastating blocker for his teammates. He has good speed for a back his size and can catch the ball out of the backfield. He can even throw a halfback option pass. Defensively, his explosiveness is obvious when he lays into a ball carrier from his linebacker position. Zingler is also the team’s punter. On the mat, Zingler qualified for the state tournament last season but did not advance out of his bracket.

Another classic example of small town, multi-sporter dripping with versatility, both on the gridiron and on his overall athletic resume, Randolph’s

is a decorated prep athlete on the football field, wrestling mat, and baseball diamond. The 6′, 200 lber. is also a heckuva RB/LB combo, as well as occasional punter, for Class AA Randolph High School, making for a dynamic and dangerous piece of the Rockets‘ exciting 2026 class of prospects. A 2x All-District football selection, 1x state wrestling entrant, and All-Section & All-Conference baseball player totaled 1,074 all-purpose yards and 15 total TDs in 2024, along with 99 tackles, 3 TFls, 2 FF, and 1 sack as a linebacker.
Zingler is a crushing lead blocker who opens his tape with a rep of him pancaking not one, but two Cannon Falls defenders while staying upright and onward to spring his teammate loose for a big gain, and his tape proves he owns some of the best contact balance of any RB in the state. Zingler eats and absorbs tackle attempts with noticeable ease, continuing forward for extra yardage post-contact, and steps through LBs and DBs trying to drag him down like they are his younger cousins on Thanksgiving Day. Has reps of him breaking handfuls of tackle attempts in a single run, and that’s not with speed folks, he’s running straight North-South through these dudes with a little bit of shake mixed in for good measure. The 200 lber. spins off, slips and steps through, runs over, and shakes by would-be tacklers in highlight reel fashion, as his quick feet and sudden cuts help him slip by tackle attempts when he works laterally. Zingler also should have been named one of the state’s Hardest Hitters in Sunday’s special feature – both for his crushing lead blocking ability, run-you-over run style, and thumping tackle strength as a LB. With good speed on both sides of the ball, Zingler reads, seeks, and finds the ball with pace and bad intentions defensively. Lots of play speed and physicality in his defensive game. I don’t think the Randolph 2026 made any camp stops last summer, so I’d love to verify the athleticism, but Zingler looks like a potential NSIC kid if the numbers hold up. Colleges: make sure you stop by Randolph in your 2026 recruiting.

A big piece in Randolph’s recent success, the Rockets have a big-time 2026 class, and Zingler is an integral part, going both ways for the Rockets and posting serious production so far this season. The 6′, 200 lber. has tallied 50 rushes for 339 yards and 6 TDs so far, as well as five receptions for 70 yards, and has added 41 tackles, 2 TFLs, a sack, and a forced fumble in four games of 2024. A three-phase contributor who is also dangerous as a returner, Zingler has even threw for a TD in 2024. The 200 lber. is strong through contact and can easily run and power through weaker tackle attempts at his lower body. He shows good vision, can break multiple tackle attempts in a single carry, and fights like heck to stay upright through contact. He also displays sudden cuts and COD ability for a more power-focused runner and can pursue out to edge and hawk down ball carriers far downfield from his LB spot. His dangerousness as a RB has been in the spotlight this season and he’s got a lot of fun carries ahead of him the rest of the year.

Sticking with small-town Randolph for another Southern MN Outstate 2026 standout! 5’11, 200 lb. RB Tristan Zingler is the muscle of the talented rising junior class of Rockets, already a state qualifier on the wrestling mat and a three-sport athlete who also excels at baseball.
A North-South ball carrier with sudden cutting ability who will run you over if you give him the chance, Zingler shows off solid burst, vision, and an effective stiff arm, and is strong enough to carry dogpiles for extra yardage and does a good job of consistently keeping his legs pumping after contact. The 200 lber. is also a pass catching threat out of the backfield, and has the toughness to break down a defense over four quarters of play. All of these Rocket juniors bring a different skill set to the table and complement each other very well. I’m looking forward to seeing what Randolph can do in 2024.
