Bell led all Nevada freshmen in rushing yards with 705 on 80 carries and 3 TDs as the lead back for Arbor View last season. He’s an extremely well-rounded back with great size, speed, and agility as a ball-carrier, toughness and grit as a blocker, and athleticism as a pass-catcher. He’s slippery and deceptive between the OTs and can set up defenders at the second and third levels. He shows good balance and leg drive through contact and should continue to add strength/power to his 5’8”/170 frame. Bell is the clear top RB prospect in the state at this early stage of the 2027 cycle.
Gaoteote added an offer from UNLV after a productive freshman season totaling 84 tackles and 7 TFLs for Bishop Gorman. He’s an athletic and instinctive box defender with great lateral quickness and closing speed to the football. He’s a quick processor with twitchy reactions and a fast downhill trigger in the run game. Gaoteote has shown the most upside of any 2027 defender in Nevada so far and should continue to generate interest on the recruiting trail.
Netherly grabbed the #1-ATH spot in the 2027 rankings after a strong showing on both sides of the ball (WR/DB) for Canyon Springs last season. He offers promising talent and playmaking ability with his length, speed, and ball skills as a perimeter defender. His physical tools and makeup have helped him generate offers from Illinois and St. Thomas this offseason. Look for Netherly to continue to prove his upside as we get deeper into the offseason circuit.
Highlights
Spann’s 16 receiving TDs led all Nevada freshmen and his 864 receiving yards ranked second among all freshmen last season. He was one of the most productive and explosive playmakers in 2A football showing an impressive vertical skillset. He’s fluid and deceptive as a route-runner, possesses the speed to burn the secondary over-the-top, and tracks the ball well downfield. He’s already established himself as one of the better athletes in the class up to this point and should continue to put himself on the radar with his playmaking skillset. Spann just picked up his first offer from UNLV in late March.
Ioane earned his rank as the top DL in Nevada’s 2027 class after a productive freshman season posting 58 tackles and a team-high 8 sacks for Cheyenne. He was a versatile piece of the DL unit last season and could be moving into more of a OLB/EDGE role in the fall. He’s quick off the ball, shows range as a tackler, and plays with promising strength and physicality for his age. Ioane’s stock should continue to rise going into his sophomore season.
