Senior <strong><span class="mceItemHidden">Get to Know Cole Stenstrom/Cole’s Strengths</span></strong> <span class="mceItemHidden">Today, Northstar Football News caught up with Mounds View QB, Cole Stenstrom to go over his resume at Mounds View at quarterback. “Poise under pressure, one play at a time mentality, my work ethic, and my weight room dedication” are what Stenstrom told NFN what his strengths during his time as a Mustang.</span> <strong>Best Part About Playing Quarterback</strong> <span class="mceItemHidden">Stenstrom had another key point about playing quarterback that I haven’t heard yet before in my time at Northstar Football News. “Learning how to lead and achieving one goal, winning a state championship” Stenstrom told us was his favorite part about being QB1 for the Mounds View Mustangs. This answer alone stands out why colleges D1-NAIA are wanting Stenstrom on their roster next year.</span> <strong>College Interest</strong> <span class="mceItemHidden">Stenstrom has no offers on the table currently,  but is getting some great looks from the Missouri Valley from Northern Iowa, South Dakota State, South Dakota and Illinois State and looks from North Dakota as well. Stenstrom also stated many D2-NAIA programs have strong interest in him as well. We will have to see if Stenstrom generates any offers while he leads the Mustangs this season.</span> <strong><span class="mceItemHidden">What Stenstrom Has Been Working On/Improving On This </span></strong><b>Off-Season</b> <span class="mceItemHidden">With being a dual threat quarterback for the Mustangs, Stenstrom states that there are 3 times that his Mustang coaches told him to work on after the 2018 season. “Pocket presence, footwork, and allusiveness” are all key items that Stenstrom has improved his stock on in the off-season and in the summer months. Stenstrom says he’s put in “countless hours” with his teammates with drills and fundamentals on an everyday basis.</span> <strong>Cole’s Mentor</strong> <span class="mceItemHidden">There are two quarterbacks in the NFL Stenstrom looks up to as far as his game and that is </span><strong><span class="mceItemHidden">Patrick Mahomes</span></strong> and <strong>Baker Mayfield</strong> <span class="mceItemHidden">as both have traits of the dual threat quarterback like Cole Stenstrom is. He also shouted out his Mustangs coaching staff, as they have “believed in me and trusted me with the ball in my hands”. Countless hours of hard work and dedication with the Mustangs coaching staff Cole credits to getting him this point in his high school football career.</span> <strong>Individual Goals/Team Goals</strong> <span class="mceItemHidden">Every time I ask the team goals question, I get the same answer and rightfully so it’s the best answer. “Winning a conference championship as well as winning a state championship” Stenstrom said about his Mustangs team goals. Mounds View has the team mindset as well that’s very much “one game at a time and each man doing their job” Cole told NFN. Individually, leadership is something Stenstrom hopes he can give to the Mounds View Mustangs. Offensively, those goals are “leading the offense on sustained drives and becoming a threat every time I have the ball” Stenstrom said in his closing statement.</span> <span class="mceItemHidden">Thanks again to Cole Stenstrom for the time. His Mounds View Mustangs (2-0) will travel to Woodbury to play a struggling 0-2 Royals team who thru two games have only generated 14 points as a team in blowouts to Lakeville South (24-7) and Eden Prairie (42-7). That game will kick off at 7:00 PM on Friday at Woodbury High School.</span>
