Expert Analysis
Matt Tate | Prep Redzone Scout
Cassese measures in at 5’11 165-pounds playing WR/KR for Castle View. He has 20 receptions for 199 yards with 2 touchdowns, including 7 kickoff returns for 89 yards. He had good athletic ability due to very good jumping, good speed, acceleration, and change of direction. Good release against both off coverage and the press jam. Good separation quickness. Cassese excels with contested catches. Strong hands to hold onto the ball while getting hit. Good catching with very good ball tracking. After the catch, Cassese uses his juke moves to get free and create extra yardage. I’m intrigued to see how he does next season with more of a role in the offense.

Cassese is an emerging name on a team filled with young talent and he’s poised to step into a much larger role. As a receiver, Cassese is sharp and twitchy in his routes, creating separation with his quick feet and suddenness out of breaks. He possesses reliable hands and can make difficult catches in traffic, a trait that will be valuable on third downs and in the red zone. His impact extends past being a receiver, Cassese can also contribute as a kicker, making him a versatile prospect. With a strong summer, Cassese could become a key player for his team moving forward.

Read EvaluationAlan Popadines | Prep Redzone Scout
On film, Cassese is one of the fastest 2028 prospects in Colorado, that I’ve seen to date. On a national scale, he’s average-to-below-average in terms of height and weight based off his last reported measurements (5-foot-8 and 130-pounds), however he can absolutely go. He is more than capable as a wide receiver or return man, but don’t sleep on him as a free safety. He covers ground quickly and his speed is certainly a difference-maker. On the rare chance that a receiver slips behind him, he can play in trail and still make a play on the ball. On a flat out fly route, if he picks up his man in time, there aren’t many that can get loose from him.
