Throughout evaluating his film, it shows Luke being able to read coverages and step up in the pocket and throw an amazing ball. Luke is off to a great start in his first season starting for Liberty Christian Academy. One of the best pocket passers and throwers in the state, he is showing very good poise and pocket presence with very good accuracy and arm strength. He does have enough athleticism to maneuver around the pass rush and complete throws under pressure. Liberty Christian is currently 7-1 on the year with their only loss coming in an out-of-state matchup versus the Ironton Fighting Tigers in Ohio. Expect the defending back-to-back state champs to be a favorite again come playoffs.

Gaither’s early offer list includes Appalachian State, Arkansas, Delaware, Liberty, and Sacramento State. During the 2024 season, he completed 208-of-359 passes for 2,475 yards, 20 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions while playing for RADNOR HIGH SCHOOL (VA) last season. LCA has their signal-caller for the next two seasons.

Arguably the best pocket passer in the class, Luke completed his first year as a starter for Radford’s varsity team. What I love about his film is his ability to make every throw on the route tree. Standing at a listed 6’4″, he has elite height. He shows good balance and flexibility in the pocket through his pass set. He lacks elite arm strength, yet he can make any throw with anticipation and accuracy. As he continues to develop his body, we will see that arm strength develop over the next couple of seasons. While not a dual-threat, he shows he can extend plays inside and outside of the pocket and find the open receiver downfield. Luke is a QB you can win with and has several D1 offers to his name already.

This is the first film I have watched for Luke, and I like what I see. You quickly see he has the ability to throw the deep ball with accuracy. What impresses me more is his ability to throw to all levels of the field in any direction. He shows he can anticipate routes and throw to the spot where the receiver will be. Athletically, he bends well, can maneuver in the pocket, and has a quick release. There’s a lot to like and he is only a sophomore. Expect him to be ranked in our post-season rankings update.

I am going to be honest up front and say he is only unranked because there is not enough film for our purposes to provide a convicted ranking for Luke. He likely is taking over the Quarterback position for the state champion Radford Bobcats this fall, and our expectation is that Radford will be contenders again led by Luke’s play. He has an offer from Toledo and eyes will be on him this fall.
