Luke was another player that I walked away impressed with. Luke showed excellent versatility lining up all over the Petoskey offense , even lining up at running back. Luke has excellent burst and gets good separation at the top of his routes. Though he was eventually dinged up a bit he left no doubt he will be a big part of what the Northman do this fall and will supply a true home run threat to the team. I was really impressed with Luke and like him to have a big year for Petoskey this fall and won’t be surprised at all if he does this from multiple alignment in there creative offense.

One look at Lukes film and all there is to say is wow. Luke put together an excellent sophomore year for the Northman. I was blown away by Lukes ability to high point the football and make tough catches in traffic. His ability to take quick screens and short slants and turn them into big plays is something you can’t teach. Luke showed a good handle on running crisp routes and making sharp cuts to gain separation from the defender. With a solid quarterback already in place look for Lukes numbers to blow up this fall.

I got a great look at Luke at our Exposure Series camp at the beginning of the month, and walked away impressed. He has great size, but pairs it with speed and the ability to change directions easily, and hit top speed in just a couple of strides. He took coaching well, and applied it to the next rep. Defensive backs were draping themselves all over him and being extremely physical just to have a chance of breaking up the pass, and he never got frustrated. Luke just continued to fight through and continued to impress. It said a ton about his character and what you can expect from him and his game. The Petoskey native has nothing but positive things ahead of him in 2026 and beyond.

I was able to validate a lot of things I already thought about Luke on Saturday. First off, I love his size and frame. He’s big, but still carries that twitchy ability and overall athleticism. He moved well during the testing portion of the camp, but when it came to one on one time, you could see how he is able to use his frame and physicality to win, even when heavily contested. Really great showing, and one of a few impressive Petoskey athletes that made the trip down!

Petoskey WR Luke Pike Luke Pike 6'0" | 200 lbs | WR/ATH Petoskey | 2028 State MI is one of the most dangerous weapons in Northern Michigan, particularly as a possession receiver. His film shows plenty of examples of him going up to get jump balls or hauling balls in against tight coverage. He also demonstrates great vision and contact balance on screens. He is able to find gaps, exploit them and at times, just flat out run through weak tackle attempts. With continued work this offseason, I believe he could elevate his game to a whole new level.
