I have had the opportunity to see Gavin work throughout the offseason, and I feel confident I have a thorough evaluation of Gavin, both on the field and just who he is as a person. He's an extremely hard worker, and has developed a ton in just a few months. Great arm, great processing and the ability to anticipate and get the ball to any part of the field. As a leader, Gavin is everything you can ask for. Helping younger guys along, constantly motivating his guys and keeping their chins up regardless of what happens. Every interaction is “yes sir, no sir” and the utmost respect. Dexter is in a great position in 2026 with Gavin leading the charge.

While I haven't gotten the opportunity to see Ali in person, everything I hear and everything I see fits the bill. He's a hard worker, and gets the results. Physically impressive with strength, speed and agility, with a mix of real football IQ. Understanding of leverage, how to get open and when to sit or drift in a zone. Dearborn has quietly been building over there, and Saad will be an important piece of the puzzle for the Tractors in 2026.

I noticed Austin's quiet confidence during our Exposure Series camp a few weeks ago. During that event, he hardy said a word, took the coaching, did everything he was asked to do, and won WR MVP over a pretty loaded receiver group. What he did physically was impressive. Good testing, great competition reps and elite size. But what I saw from his confidence and attitude all day long put me on notice. No drama, no complaints, just hard work and results.

I got a great look at Luke at our Exposure Series camp at the beginning of the month, and walked away impressed. He has great size, but pairs it with speed and the ability to change directions easily, and hit top speed in just a couple of strides. He took coaching well, and applied it to the next rep. Defensive backs were draping themselves all over him and being extremely physical just to have a chance of breaking up the pass, and he never got frustrated. Luke just continued to fight through and continued to impress. It said a ton about his character and what you can expect from him and his game. The Petoskey native has nothing but positive things ahead of him in 2026 and beyond.

I still haven't forgotten about that Woodhaven team. Preston and the rest of his Woodhaven team had the Michigan high school football universe in a trance in 2025. Such a fun team to watch, and such a fun group to root for. Preston was a major part of that success throughout the season. He really embodied the low ego and high output. In fact, he was one of the most productive quarterbacks in the entire state. He was confident, slinging the ball around, and dealing damage with his legs. He led this team to new heights against top teams extremely well. He's gritty, scrappy and will undoubtedly be must-watch this fall.
