Pope is a large athlete in the 6’3 300 range who plays left tackle for the Miners, but as we’ve said in the past, a move to guard at the next level could take his game to a new level. It’s very difficult for opposing defenders to get around Pope when he stays in front of them as he’s just too big and strong. Pope has quality feet for his size which you can see flashes of in his first four games tape and can continue to further utilize with more development. D2 and D3 programs should check Pope out this season as an underrated lineman with good size flying under the radar right now.

. He’ll be part of a big and strong offensive line for the Miners again this season and is a prospect we’ll be watching closely who’s on the cusp of being ranked. Pope played tackle for the Miners last season but we like him as a future college guard given his size and is a position he could excel at the next level. He’s a quality athlete for his size and moves his feet well which explains why they utilize him at tackle. Pope can block in space and get his hat on linebackers consistently which he showed on his junior tape. He also showed the ability to blow defenders off the ball and the level of physicality that you’re looking for in an OL.
Pope is an under-the-radar prospect who could play himself into some D2 looks this season if he puts some good things on film again as a senior.

who lines up next to Hatfield at tackle on the right side of their line. He’s a raw prospect with obvious potential and an athlete you can work with to mold into a future college starter. Although he plays tackle in high school, Pope is likely to slide inside to guard at the next level, but it’s great for his personal development to get tackle reps and experience at this level. I thought he showed quality footwork and quickness for a guard-type build playing tackle and those are traits that he can carry with him if he eventually moves to guard in the future. Pope can get to the second level from his tackle spot showcasing said quickness and has power behind him when he gets there. We’d love to get some height and weight measurements for him to give us a better gauge of his ceiling, but Pope looks noticeably big on film. Although raw, he is a prospect whom D2 schools should look at next season while checking out a few talented 2025 Mingo Central offensive linemen.
