. Hatfield has junior film that we liked a lot but size keeps him in the D2/D3 border ranking range. He’s a highly physical player who plays with a nasty streak and has violent hands that we loved when evaluating his tape. Hatfield can be a devastating pulling guard in the Miners’ offense who brings a lot of force to the point of contact. He has heavy hands with a powerful punch and finishes his blocks until the whistle. Hatfield also showed quality athleticism when pulling and at our combine event with good feet in the short area.”

currently rounds out our Top 30 OL ranking for the class and is looking to break into the state rankings with a strong combine performance. Our biggest question for him is what are his measurements? We liked his junior highlight tape which earned him his Top 30 OL ranking but have seen different measurements for him that will need to be confirmed. Hatfield will certainly play at the next level at some level if he chooses to, but size is ever so important to colleges, especially for linemen. The physicality and athleticism appear to be there which made us think highly of him based on film alone, so the next step will be to see how high his ceiling can be as a prospect who could be a D2 or D3 candidate. A very strong combine performance could throw size out the window if his talent more than makes up for it which we have seen in prior instances in the past.

. He’s another athlete who posts a big increase in size from our last measurements for him and is now in the 6’2 270 range. Hatfield is a bulldozing run blocker with pulling and second-level blocking ability. I thought he showed quality foot quickness when pulling and getting out in space and can finish blocks once he gets there. Hatfield is a physical player who also flashes a strong punch and knockdown ability. He plays with good bend and leverage while also playing with quality pad level from his guard spot. Hatfield is a stout all-around athlete, and his size increase should prove to greatly benefit him during his senior season. I think he’ll play himself into receiving some D2 attention this fall and should impress during the summer college camp season.
