As we look ahead to the upcoming games, here are the top 5 freshmen to watch in the state playoffs, along with a scouting report on each player.

- Defensively he compliments his get-off with a violent strike and separation from the OL as well as an effective escape, good level change of hips and redirect to the ball.
- *Projection analysis at DL, 5 technique or on the edge as a DE. Kid can play, great student and committed to his craft.
- Training with “Garage Strength”, I know he will continue to be explosive.
- *Excellent player and very good recruit!

- Mccorvey’s evidence of instincts, ability to read and react, proper footwork technique & ability to flow to direction of play are impressive.
- Mccorvey’s ability to set the edge, take proper pursuit angles & the ability to move thru traffic and make a play show up on film.
- Mccorvey’s ability will allow him to stay on the field in all situations as a 3 down LB including run downs, coverage & inserting into pressure packages. Versatility and an ability to disrupt! Great recruitable traits.

- Baker is athletic, demonstrates great vision and anticipates at a very high level.
- Man Coverage Skill Set: College Coaches focus on athletic ability to back pedal with smooth hip turns & transitions, the ability to ability to mirror routes, press coverage and fight to stay in phase with WR. Baker is very discipline with his eyes and is athletic to match the skill set of the WR during route development.
- Zone Coverage Skill set: College Coaches focus on route recognition, the ability to adjust to proper drop depth and discipline to read route releases & concepts. Baker demonstrates a very high Football IQ reading route concepts, WR body language and hip level change adjusting to the QB depth and upfield elbow and shoulder when anticipating route depth and location.

- MOTOR – A player’s consistent energy and effort throughout a play or game. Taylor competes to the echo of the whistle, works every play to be effective and contribute to his defense.
- HANDS/SEPARATION – Using hands to control and disengage from blockers, creating space to pursue the ball. Taylor has great length, uses his hands very well to strike and separate.
- CHANGE OF DIRECTION – The ability to quickly change movement direction while maintaining balance. Taylor’s ability to level change his hips at the heals of the OL player is impressive.

- ARM STRENGTH – Harris has ease of motion in making deep/intermediate throws; trajectory and velocity of ball flight & ability to drive the ball in bad weather:
- ACCURACY – Coaches look for ability to throw WR’s open combined with a catchable ball w/proper velocity: Harris’ ability to throw to the open window with a very catchable ball and in a position to max RAC is impressive.
- Setup/Footwork – Coaches look for proper dropback steps, proper seat position of the ball, standing tall in pocket, pocket mobility, proper balance and transition including back leg follow thru for hip rotation: Harris’ mechanics, transition from back foot to front foot combined with his accuracy are all being performed at a high level.
